You've probably heard this sort of story before. Once upon a time, blah blah blah a boy and a girl fell love and everything was beautiful and perfect, except for this thing called life getting in their way. He was this cool foreign prince and she was basically perfect. Really it's a very boring run of the mill story. I'll even spoil it for you, they kill the villainess at the end. Not the type of story I'd read personally. So where do I fit into this? Apparently I'm her older twin sister and the very very lucky fiance to the foreign prince. You know, the dead villainess? Sophie liked to think of herself as a tough sort of woman, a survivor. As an average person, she survived hell on earth and returned to tell the tale. Give or take. In a tragic freak accident, she and the survivors of two plane crashes were trapped on a strange uninhabited island. It took 8 years for help to locate them. Of the original 288 missing passengers and crew, only 22 people remained. The world went wild, everyone wanted to know what happened. What went on there? In a true Lord of the Flies fashion, it was humanity at its worst. It was hell on earth, a miniature apocalypse in the middle of the ocean. Sure Sophie had survived, but even after years of intensive therapy, she isn't always happy about it. Those who murdered her younger brother were now rich, those who raped and left her baby sister to die in childbirth were famous. The kings of that hell island, monsters wearing human skin, had sold their stories and were now living the good life after. And try as she might move on, hell has followed her home. Till she wakes up 13 years back in the past that is. I didn't mean to time travel, especially not to a place like this! But I think I have to stay, at least a little while longer. If I want to keep living that is. ----- When Emily Long opened up the box of her late grandmother's heirlooms she didn't expect much. The contents were surprisingly nice antiques, especially a strangely beautiful compact mirror. The real surprise however was traveling back in time with them. Even worse, she's landed herself in the walled city of a famous pleasure town. A place where most normal women cannot enter unless they're a resident. That means only one thing in this ancient times red light district. She could just go back through the mirror and forget this ever happened. If only it weren't for the blood like messages written in lipstick counting down to her death. Now she has to go back and forth completing vague quests until the cursed family mirror is satisfied. Along the way she can't help but get attached to an ill fated courtesan with a face eerily similar to her own. Great great great great grandmother? Is that you?
