Though still think you should accumulate more goodies in the lower realm, I guess it is more responsible to not take in disciples you don’t intend to nurture to void refinement. After all, that would probably be a 1,000 year commitment at most. Plus one would have to consider what the big shot above will do if the hitmen are killed. Staying below would mean that the disciples would be in more danger due to more hitmen. Not to mention the big shot possibly choosing to spread a network on the lookout for MC when he ascends. Considering that, killing the hidden dangers, leaving legacy (techniques) and speed running ascension seems best. Can even make a game of how long it takes first disiples to ascend and if they will be outdone by those MC takes above.
