Bel was red as she lay in bed, wheezing. "I told you not to move suddenly," Hazel said, sounding on the verge of tears.
Bel tried to take a deep breath, but it was a little hard to breathe. The burst of excitement had not been the right approach, and now her chest felt like it was on fire. "I-I am fine," Bel tried to say, but the words didn't even leave her mouth before another fit of coughing erupted.
"I am going to get Isaiah," Hazel cried.
Bel didn't get a chance to stop her sister before she fled the bedroom, leaving Bel to wonder why Hazel had gone herself when she could have just sent a servant. She didn't exactly want to be left alone.
