Capítulo 6: Central Plaza Church

"Meeting peoples you know is a big risk for your life, do you trust them? Do they...trust you?"

The Central Plaza, one of the tourist destination in Western District, there's some area where street foods can be buy, they have that are so that they don't bother some people trying to enjoy the view of the Central Plaza. In the south side, there is a huge church, a really old church that has been standing ever since it was build 10 decades ago. Its one of the tourist attractions in the Central Plaza because of its old, crumbling and mossy structures. But now, that the apocalypse happened, the Central Plaza turn into a evacuation area, few weeks ago after the apocalypse happened.

The group arrived at the Central Plaza, but a view that they didn't expect to see, the supposed to be evacuation area in Central Plaza...is no longer standing. Vins and the three was shock and flinches at what they witnessing right now. Blood's everywhere, dead corpses, burned corpses, pile of bodies, destroyed tents, abandoned military vehicles. The place was covered with disgusting smell of corpses, the atmosphere was really off.

"..w-what is these? I thought there's an evacuation area here?", Fionna ask while she was confused.

"...it is..an evacuation area, but i think something..happened here..", Vins said, Kentoki agree to it because as they can see there's so many dead corpses.

"..b-bigbro, look..they also burned them..", Chloe points out.

Vins and the three start walking towards the plaza to see what they can find, maybe clues what happened here. As they continue investigating the disgusting scenery, Kentoki check one body, and there's so many hole on their body.

"...Vins, they...they've been shot..or worst..", Kentoki said while keep checking the dead body.

As they go more far, they all check everything, tents, dead bodies, vehicles, and even some tables outside with some papers on it. Looks like something horrible happened at the evacuation few days ago, which cause this mess to happened. The smell really disgusting, and its mixing in the air that flowing around.

"...Vins..did those military...killed everyone?", Kentoki ask

"...we don't know yet, but if there's some holes on their bodies...then we can assure that...they killed them so that the apocalypse won't continue..", Vins answer.

"...so like, sacrificing everyone...for the sake of the others...cruel..", Kentoki said.

The group stumble upon the Central Plaza Church, like what i said earlier it was the famous church and one of the tourist attractions in the whole Central Plaza. They look around, and the church was actually clean inside, the gate was locked properly, car and motorcycle are parked inside.

"What's your call, Vins?", Kentoki ask.

"...of course, what should we do? Let's get in..", Vins said and he silently opened the gate and enter first.

The church was quiet, the atmosphere is kind of nice and warm, comfortable since its the house of god, the car was clean like someone is cleaning it. On top of the church, a huge tower can be seen, it was dark inside and the bell can be seen. Suddenly, an eyes appears in the shadow, a sniper points at them, Vins suddenly felt uncomfortable so he quickly look around and hide Fionna behind him.

"...be careful, someone is here..", he said while Kentoki covers Chloe behind him.

"You've got the nerves to come inside without any permissions!! Trespassers is not allow inside of the church!! Those who believe in god is the only one can enter inside!!", a calm, steady and low voice is coming from the bell tower.

Vins and the three look at the bell tower, and they saw a flickering lights which means that there's a sniper pointing at them. Vins slowly put his hands up, Kentoki and the two girls see it and they understand it easily, they also lifted their hands.

"...we don't want any trouble, we just looking for a safe place..", Vins yell.

"So what? I don't care...i don't even know who you guys are...just go out there, and get the hell out of here...before i shoot those puny head of you", the unknown sniper said.

Vins look behind him, and he can see that the two girls behind them are shaking in fear. This makes Vins look back at the bell tower and start staring at it calmly and serious.

"...listen here you son of a b*tch, we have a kid on our group..are you really gonna let a kid go out there, wander around and be killed by those freaks!!? You are nothing but a COWARD!!", Vins yell.

"...he just call me a coward...", a low and depressed voice coming from the bell tower.

'Ack!! Is he really that soft!!?', Fionna said in her mind with a comedic shock face.

Vins continue staring at the unknown sniper with a serious and menacingly look. The unknown sniper stares at him back, as they did that for over five minutes. After that five minutes staring at each other, Vins smirk like he was saying that if he shoot, he will kill him for sure.

".....eek! Scary!", a scared shaking voice echoes.

'What is he!!? A kid!!?", Fionna said once again with another comedic shock face.

Vins and the three laughs because the unknown sniper was funny and kind of child minded person, he step forward and look properly at the unknown sniper.

"I'm sorry for trespassing...we just need something to stay until we found some safe place...i can't let this two girls walk around the road with those freaks...please, can we just stay here? Maybe outside is fine..no need to stay inside..", Vins beg at the unknown sniper man, he doesn't want Fionna and Chloe to stay outside anymore.

The unknown man think for a while, and suddenly felt bad for kicking them out, "..fine, you can come inside now...but make sure you don't have any bites okay, my friends will inspect you...so stay there..", Vins smiles and look at the huge door of the church, and it suddenly open, mist suddenly comes out inside, and a strong wind pressure gust on them.

"...what with this dramatic entrances!!??", Fionna said while being blown away by the wind pressure.

"...just...stay...still..", Vins said while struggling to stay on his foot.

As the door finally open, a loud bang in the wall caused by the door, echoes in the whole plaza. Three person comes out in the light, Vins eyes slowly widened and he can't believe at what he was seeing right now. These peoples, are his friends and classmates from the campus.

"...what do they want? A safe place?", a deep calm voice said.

"...maybe, but why not take them right?", another deep but quite soft voice said.

"...even tho, we can't take more peoples", a soft calm voice said.

Chris Mandango, is a young man with dark, spiky hair. His expression is serious, almost grim, his brow furrowed, and his mouth set in a firm line. He is wearing a jacket or coat over a t-shirt, and he has a small beard. To his left is another young man named Leigh Morris with lighter, shorter hair and an eye patch over his left eye. His expression is more neutral, almost stoic. He appears somewhat calmer than the central figure. His clothing suggests a uniform-like jacket.To the right is a third individual, also a young man named Rhyanne Kordinal, with lighter hair styled differently. This character's face is rounder and his expression is more relaxed, almost apathetic or resigned. He has several small dots on his cheeks suggesting freckles or blemishes.

In a moment of silent, the two groups stares at each other. Vins can't believe that he will find his friends here in the church, and they all looks fine.

"..guys!?", Vins said.

The three young men's stares at Vins like they trying to figure out who's the guy that calling them like their close. Suddenly, their eyes widened in happiness and shock too.

"Vins!!!??", they shout in unison.

They rush towards him, they look happy that their friend got out alive in the campus, Vins can see in their face that his friends really worried at him, and concerned about him.

"...what happened? I thought you guys are dead..like those wandering freaks..", Vins said.

"...we are the one's who thought your already dead...", Chris said.

"..nah, i'm alive...actually i don't remember what happened before the apocalypse..", Vins added.

"...i'm the one who brought you in the clinic last month...and then when the apocalypse happened, we thought of coming back to you...but freaks surrounded the clinic and we don't get choice but leave...", Rhyanne said.

Fionna step forward, and crosses her arms, she look at them with a annoyed look, "You guys left him dead there...what if freaks get inside and start eating him while his in coma?", she said.

The three suddenly shut their mouth, and stares at her. Another moment of silent and awkwardness is happening, Chris, Leigh and Rhyanne suddenly realize that Vins has peoples with him, and its not just a random stranger.

"FIONNA!!?", they shout in unison again, which makes Fionna flinches.

The three suddenly rush towards Vins and grabbed him, Leigh was behind him grabbing his right hand, Rhyanne was holding his waist and left hand. While Chris punches Vins at the face with a smirking on their face.

"You little scum!! Did you just wake up and immediately head towards their house!!?", Leigh said.

"You lucky bastard!!", Rhyanne added.

"Did you do it already!?", Chris said with a smirk on his face.

"Of course not!!!", Vins yell at him, while Chris eyes narrow in dumb way and looking away.

Fionna and the two behind was confused on what their talking about, but she was glad that Vins found some friends of him, this is the first time she saw his smile ever since the apocalypse start. She smile warmly and blush a little, Leigh look at them with a slight smile on them.

"I didn't expect that our friend is alive, and he also have his crush..", Leigh chuckles and smile.

'Huh? Vins crush? Who? Its impossible to be Chloe...and besides her i'm the only girl here...just the two of us, so who's girl are they talking about?", she mumbles on her mind and this makes him realize that...

"..wait, don't tell me...", Vins look at her, Fionna start blushing and look away from Vins.

"...you still like me..", a gust of wind flew around them, a sudden sweet atmosphere can be feel by them, Fionna looks away while she was blushing.

She can't believe that this man, walk from their campus to their house, just to see and protect her...because he still likes her. Vins gives her a big smile and peace sign.

"...yeah, why would i uncrush you?", Vins said and this makes Fionna blush more.

"...there's no reason for me to do that, after all...my feelings never change...even..", Vins look at the ground and smile a little.

"...even i rejected you many times..", Fionna said, Vins determination and love for her is very strong, like nothing will break it. He doesn't give up even he got rejected multiple times back in their school day, he keeps on trying and trying until she answered him.

"..y-you didn't need to do that...you know..", Fionna added while still looking away from him, she felt something she never felt before.

At this moment, our characters enter to a place where peace can be found. Now that he found his campus friends, can he now become the hero he wanted to be, to protect and to take Fionna on a place where she can live a normal life, and peaceful without these nightmare that keep stopping them from living the life they want to live.
