After that day, Eijun never saw Miyuki again. The man didn't even message him. Eijun wanted to message him, but he was too afraid to do that. The high schooler couldn't stop thinking about the man, though, and wonder what he was doing.
Eijun got out of his bed and freshened up and said good morning to his parents' photo. It was what he usually did when he woke up.
He had a quick breakfast and changed into his school uniform. The teenager left his apartment, but before he left the building, EIjun checked his mailbox. He saw that he had gotten a mail from a familiar name.
"Why is he sending something now?" Eijun didn't even want to bother opening the letter. He didn't have time for this, so he put it in his bag and hurried to school.
The halls of his school were empty. It made sense since he came early than most students. Eijun dropped his things off at his classroom and then went to the library right after.
The library was empty, and even the librarian wasn't in yet, but the room was still open for those who came in early.
He didn't come to school to study but just look for some books. Eijun wasn't the type that liked learning, but if he had to, then Eijun would do it. The teenager looked around the shelves. There was nothing in particular that he was looking for, just roaming around.
Eijun stopped when his hand landed on a red book, which was a strange colour for a book to be in a school library.
He flipped through the pages of the book when his hands stopped when it landed on one particular page.
"Why does this book have info about the keys and jewels?" Eijun couldn't make sense of it.
"Oh, you're here this early." The librarian had finally arrived and spotted EIjun reading a book in his hand.
"Sorry if it's a bother."
"Not at all. It didn't think students come in this early." She went to do her job.
Eijun looked at the book but was surprised when all the information he just saw was gone.
"What's going on here?" Eijun rubbed his hands to see if he was dreaming, but the writing was gone.
Eijun didn't understand what was happening, but he decided to borrow this book from the library. He went to the woman who was the librarian and asked to take the red book.
"Did we have a book like this?" She looked confused when the woman tried to look the book up. "This isn't our book. Maybe somebody dropped it."
"What? Not here." Eijun kept getting confused.
"Isn't this yours?" The librarian then showed Eijun that his name was in the book.
Eijun was confused more than ever now.
The student decided to take the book with him. Eijun didn't understand any of what was going on. Once he arrived at his classroom, and he took the book out and was surprised when he saw all the writing was back. He could see the words and images.
"What is going on here?"
"Morning, Eijun-kun." When he heard his name Eijun put the book away inside his desk.
"Morning." Eijun greeted his friends, who were waving at him.
"Aren't you early today?" Toujou asked.
"I wanted to head to the library when nobody was around," Eijun explained.
"Hey, are you working tonight?" Kanemaru asked.
"Yes, why?"
"I heard there had been a lot of fights going on at night, so be careful when heading home after work."
Tonight Eijun was working at the convenience store, which was better than the bar when things are going crazy in the city.
The day was slow for Eijun, and the class was boring. He looked outside the window like any main character would. The leaves were falling in slow motion, telling him it would be a while before his class would be done.
Eijun looked around his class and saw most of the students not even paying attention to the teacher as he was explaining his lecture. He saw that Furuya was asleep there, no surprise. His other friends were probably the only ones paying attention in class.
Eijun peeked at the book that he had brought earlier with him, and he opened one page and just like before, there were no words, nothing.
It's like the book was telling him that you can only open it when Eijun is alone.
"Listen up. Everybody probably knows already, but exams are next week." The teacher was telling them to study for the exams.
It was noon, and that meant lunch time. The friends went to the rooftop, where they usually have their lunch.
"What are you guys going to do after graduating?" Haruichi asked while they ate their lunch.
"Probably find a good job," Kanemaru said.
"Go to college," Toujou said.
"Sleep," Furuya mumbled.
"That nothing new from what you already do." Kanemaru sighed.
"I'm thinking of moving out of my brother's place and start my life without him." Haruichi looked determined when he said that. "But first, I need a good job to rent a place."
Haruichi turned to Eijun since he hadn't answered yet.
"I'm not sure." Eijun already had a job and apartment that he lived alone in. Maybe he should go to college, but what good would that do now? He didn't have the will to go to college anymore since his parents passed away.
"Looks like you need to figure that out soon," Haruichi said.
"Can't believe graduation is around the corner. Once we are finished the exams." Toujou said.
On his way home, Eijun was thinking about what he talked about with his friends. Unlike the others, he didn't have a clear idea of what to do after he finishes high school.
"Somebody help!" Eijun stopped in his tracks when he heard a girl cry out.
He ran to where the source was coming from and saw the girl who yelled for help. The girl was not alone. She was with an injured old man, and he looked beaten, but it didn't look like a normal bruise on him.
"What happened?" Eijun asked.
"I don't know. This old man was like this when I found him."
Eijun took out his phone and called for the ambulance.
The girl looked afraid like she didn't know what to do. She looked about the same age as he was.
"It's okay." He told her. "Help coming," Eijun assured the girl that this man was going to be alright.
A few minutes after the ambulance and police came. The girl Eijun knows as Yoshikawa Haruno was still shaking from what happened that she wasn't able to speak to the police. Eijun told them what he knew when Eijun arrived at the scene.
The older man had weird scratches on his face and arms that were not normal. Eijun was beginning to be curious who made a man like that. It was terrible.
Even after the police were done and the injured man was gone, Eijun decided to stay with Haruno.
"I can drop you hope if you want." Eijun offered since it didn't look like she wanted to be alone right now.
"Thank you, Sawamura, but the station is fine." She smiled, which Eijun was glad.
Eijun dropped Haruno to the train station, and after she got on her train safety, Eijun decided to go home as well.
When the teenager got home is when he jumped onto his bed. What happened was crazy? Eijun couldn't believe he ran into a scene like in the movies.
BEEP!
Eijun heard his phone make a sound that he got a message. He looked and was surprised when he saw the name that popped up.
Kazuya: Hi, how are you doing? I wanted to send you a message sooner, but I have been busy.
Eijun decided to reply right back at the older man.
Eijun: I'm doing fine, and I know that adults have things they have to deal with
Kazuya: If you are free tomorrow, I would like to take you out for lunch :)
Eijun smiled at the happy face at the end.
Eijun: Sure I am free tomorrow
Kazuya: I will meet you at Shibuya in front of the convenience store. How does noon sound?
Eijun: Sure that sounds alright
After their exchange, Eijun couldn't help but be happy. He was sure that this man would have forgotten about him, but in the end, he got a text message, and they were meeting tomorrow.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The day of their meeting was drawing near. Eijun was getting ready. He was beginning to act like a little girl who went on a first date, which was not the case.
"It's just a hang out with an older man. Who's mature than me and has a good job?
Eijun should stop all this thinking. He looked at the time on his phone.
"It's time to leave." He checked one last time to see if he had forgotten anything. "I'll see you when I get home." He told the photo of his parents.
Shibuya was busy today since it was a weekend. It looked like he came early. It happens when the teenager is overexcited.
As Eijun was waiting, he noticed something strange. The sky was dark all of sudden. The bright sun had disappeared, and what was left was a horrible dark purple sky.
"Why is the sky like that?" It was scary looking.
"Sawamura." Eijun heard his name being called and turned around and saw Miyuki coming toward him. As he was about to wave his hand, he felt a gust of wind go back fast. It didn't seem like much damage, but it took half of Eijun's hair down and was short, and there was a cut on his face on the right cheek.
"Sawamura!" Miyuki looked worried and ran to the teenager.
"How did this happen?" Eijun was surprised that his hair was now short and a mess.
"Are you okay?" Miyuki asked he noticed the blood dripping on Eijun's right cheek. "Let's go somewhere to fix this."
Miyuki's eyes turned red and rage, but Eijun didn't see it. The man knew what had happened and who had caused it making his anger boil.
They went to a clinic that was nearby. The doctor cleaned Eiijun's wound on his cheek.
"I was surprised to you see." The doctor said as he turned to Miyuki.
"Doctor, you know Miyuki?" Eijun asked since he was speaking as if he knew the older man.
"Yes. I know Miyuki well." The doctor said.
"You know Chris-san, I wouldn't have come, but Sawamura was hurt."
"Anyway, it looks like it wasn't much."
"Sawamura, let's go." Miyuki pulled Eijun from where he was sitting.
Miyuki didn't like being here. He wouldn't have come.
They left the clinic, but Miyuki was still worried about Eijun.
"Your long hair is gone," Miyuki said as they were walking.
"It's fine. I was going to cut it soon anyway."
"How dare they crush my day off with Sawamura!"
"I want to spend time with you, but I'm worried about your wound to reopen if we go out like this."
"I don't mind."
"I know, but I can't have you hurt."
"But…" Eijun didn't want to leave like this.
Miyuki could see he was making Eijun sad, he felt terrible, but there was something he had to do some things.
"I'm sorry, but your health is more important to me."
"Okay." Eijun couldn't say anything to this man afterward.
"I promise to take you out again, so keep your phone on your all the time."
"Okay." That made Eijun smile. It meant that Miyuki would message him again, and they would go out again.
Miyuki drove Eijun home. The man had come from work, so that was one reason why he asked to meet in Shibuya or else he would have picked Eijun up himself.
"I'll call you," Miyuki promised when he dropped Eijun to his apartment.
Once he saw Eijun was inside like last time he drove away. The man was still mad at what happened that he was sure his true self would have come out, but he stopped himself. Not now.
Miyuki could smell that same scent when he felt Eijun's hair and cheek was cut. The forest was big, but that was nothing for Miyuki. The man could find anybody in an instant.
"Found you," Miyuki said softly.
The thing that appeared was no human.
"Who are you?"
"You shouldn't have done that around humans."
"What?" When the non-human saw Miyuki's dark aura, he began to be afraid. He was sweating and wanting to run away.
"You're that black-winged----" He was cut off before the non-human could say anything. Miyuki had chopped him into tiny pieces; all that was left was the blood.
"You shouldn't anger me." Miyuki licked his lips.
Miyuki said he would call Eijun, so he took out his phone and dialled his number.
"Hello." Eijun picked up, and Miyuki could hear that sweet voice of his. "Miyuki-san."
"I wanted to see how you are doing?"
"Oh, I'm fine. I just finished fixing my hair, so it doesn't look like a mess anymore."
"I'm sure you will look cute."
"Thanks." Eijun blushed. He was glad that the older man wasn't here because his face is red.
"Sawamura, if anything ever happens to you. I mean, if you get into any kind of trouble, let me know."
"Okay. Sure." Eijun didn't know why Miyuki was asking him that.
"Also, don't go out late at night."
Eijun knew that he couldn't tell the man about his bar job.
"Yes. I promise."
"I'll let you rest now. I will call you again."
"Okay."
Miyuki headed back to his office when he was done speaking with Eijun. There were things that he needed to take care of.
He saw that Kuramochi was in the office when he arrived.
"What did you do!" He yelled as soon as he saw Miyuki enter from the window.
"I had to deal with some unwanted issues."
Kuramochi grabbed a towel and threw it at him. Miyuki caught it and cleaned his face, so there was no blood showing.
"What happened?"
"A bug got in my way."
Kuramochi couldn't say much since Miyuki always had this other side to him. He hated people getting in his way, either they are humans or other beings.
"I want you to look into the Uki clan."
"Why?"
"So I can kill them a call. How dare they mess with me?"
"Alright."
Kuramochi always followed his leader's orders since everything he said was true. The Uki didn't have a good reputation either. They did horrible deals, but nothing is bad as what Miyuki does.
"I need to protect him. I need to keep him from harm. I can't let anything like that happen again."
