Capítulo 67: Chapter 67

Muspelheim, one of the nine realms.

A scarlet dragon, adorned with black bone spurs on its back and head, plummeted from the sky, crashing onto the rocky surface above the lava. Most of its body shattered the thick rock layer, submerging into the molten depths below. The intense lava, however, could not harm a creature born and raised in such fiery surroundings.

Struggling to emerge from the fractured rock formations, the evil dragon dripped with magma. It looked up at the sky from which it had just descended, releasing a long, resounding roar before expelling a torrent of blazing dragon breath straight into the air. The dark clouds overhead turned ominous shades of black and red, swirling menacingly.

At that moment, black smoke erupted from the dark clouds, charging toward the dragon at incredible speed.

Seeing this, the dragon pivoted its head, unleashing another torrent of flame in pursuit of the black smoke. Yet, the smoke was extraordinarily agile, twisting and darting like a black python, evading the dragon's flames effortlessly.

The smoke descended rapidly, materializing into Abel, cloaked in swirling black tendrils. Without hesitation, the moment he touched the ground, he raised his wand and shot a red beam directly into the dragon's eyes.

The Eye Curse centered on the dragon's vision, rendering its eyes blurred and dark. Unable to see anything, the dragon grew increasingly frantic. Its claws and tail thrashed wildly, unleashing bursts of dragon breath. But as its strength waned, its gasps became louder, and the ferocity of its flames weakened, leaving it in a precarious state.

Naturally, Abel seized this opportunity. He advanced in a cloud of black smoke, aiming his wand at the dragon's neck. Deep cuts marred the flesh, evidence of his work with the Severing Charm.

After the events in Saint Van Gonzal, Abel had asked the Ancient One to guide him to a place where dragons still existed, seeking her aid to defeat a sufficiently powerful dragon.

To his surprise, the Ancient One had taken him to Muspelheim, one of the nine realms—the realm of fire where the fire giant, Surtr, resided!

With the Ancient One's assistance, Abel quickly located a dragon fitting his criteria. This dragon was among the strongest in Muspelheim, and the Ancient One had dealt it considerable damage, allowing Abel to pursue and confront it directly.

As for the Ancient One, she had ensured this space was completely isolated; any detection by Surtr would have spelled trouble.

Wielding his wand like a sword, Abel unleashed another magical blade, severing the dragon's head from its neck. The hot blood gushed forth as the massive body collapsed onto the rocky terrain.

Without hesitation, Abel advanced and laboriously cut through the dragon's chest, extracting its heart and collecting some of its blood. Time was of the essence; he sensed a terrifying heat approaching.

Placing the items into his bag, Abel said urgently, "Ancient One, we can leave now!"

As his voice fell, the Ancient One dove down from the air, grasped Abel's shoulders, and opened a portal, swiftly exiting Muspelheim. The strength of her portals far surpassed that of other mages, allowing her to bridge the realms between Midgard and Muspelheim.

Even Abel doubted that, if Odin's power were not so formidable, the Ancient One could traverse freely between Earth and Asgard.

Just as Abel and the Ancient One stepped into the portal, a colossal hand erupted from the lava below, shattering the rock and reaching for them. But by the time the massive hand closed, the portal had shrunk and vanished without a trace, leaving the enormous palm grasping at nothing.

Anguished roars of frustration echoed throughout Muspelheim, but for the Ancient One and Abel, the fate of that realm was no longer their concern.

"Huh... that was truly dangerous just now. I'm glad you arrived in time, Ancient One."

As usual, the Ancient One smiled and nodded. "Our actions were somewhat too conspicuous, drawing Surtr's attention. After all, this is his realm. It would be wise to avoid him if possible."

"Ancient One, thank you very much for your help this time."

"It's nothing. In modern society, the dragons on Earth are mostly extinct. We wouldn't need to venture to places like Muspelheim for our targets. Although Surtr was severely weakened in his battle against Odin's three brothers, he remains powerful. Even I would prefer to avoid a direct confrontation with him."

Hearing her words, Abel sighed. "There are countless mysteries in this universe. As I delve deeper into magic, I find more things I don't comprehend. Perhaps I will grow strong enough to explore the world outside and gain a better understanding of the universe."

"I completely agree with that sentiment, but unfortunately, I can't wander freely like you. Otherwise, I would choose to venture out and unravel the mysteries of the entire universe, just like you."

While Ancient One possessed the capability to perform feats like space travel due to her advanced magic, other constraints prevented her from leaving at will.

The two engaged in casual conversation for a while before parting ways.

Since the drill spell cast in front of the mages of Kama Taj, their gazes toward Abel had shifted significantly, especially among those familiar with Mordo. Abel paid little mind to them; after all, the trio of Kaecilius, Daniel, and Wong, who knew him well, treated him as they always had. The opinions of others were of little concern.

Returning to the Sanctuary of New York via the portal, Abel did not head home immediately. Instead, he made his way to the Stark Building, where he needed a secure place to handle the newly acquired dragon heart.

This was no mere Pegasus feather—he couldn't deal with this at home. Abel also intended to seize this opportunity to craft a second magic wand!
