6.45% White Commander in One Piece / Chapter 1: I am the Player?

Capítulo 1: I am the Player?

Gideon suddenly found himself on a beach. It wouldn't be all that weird of an occurrence if he could remember where he was beforehand or which beach this was. However, he had no idea about any of that. The off-putting thing is he doesn't really care about any of that. It is a rather nice beach, that looks to have an office space in the middle of it.

'Might as well see what this is about, It's not like I have much else to do.' thought Gideon.

Walking up to the desk, Gideon saw two objects: a fruit and a pamphlet. Seeing how the fruit was swirly and completely white to the point of glowing, Gideon decided to investigate the pamphlet first.

It read:

[Dear Latest Test Subject,

I have taken you and put you in a copy of the One Piece World. I have limited the panic that would ensue in you if I otherwise didn't. Along with selective memory wipes. Next to this note is a devil fruit that contains powers that originated from outside this world (it's easier to stick them in a fruit than alter the world's fundamental laws). You are going to use them however you like, I don't care what happens in the world so long as you eat the fruit. I will just document what you do, I am always watching after all (JK, I have far too many active experiments for that). If you don't eat the fruit, whenever I check up on your experiment I will delete you, reboot this world, and move on to the next subject. So don't make me do more work. Thank you for your unwilling cooperation.

With Curiosity,

Your Friendly Interdimensional Scientist R.O.B.

P.S. You are given a seven day novice protection before any forces of this world will even find out about your new island.

P.P.S. All the fruit powers will be explained as you eat the fruit.]

'Well that explains some things, and totally sucks. Think positive, this could all be a prank and I was only abducted and drugged by psychopaths.' thought Gideon. 'That did unsurprisingly little to make me feel better...'

"Hah, let's get this over with and hope I'm being pranked" Gideon mumbled. Switching his gaze from the pamphlet in his hand to the fruit laying on the desk, Gideon considered it. The fruit wasn't something he would normally think of eating, glowing white and all. However, it wasn't like he had much of a choice, his R.O.B. could decide to check in within a day or a decade. He wasn't going to live peacefully with such a threat over his head.

Gideon picked up the fruit, its glow giving off such reassuring warmth. He took a bite. To say the fruit was unpalatable would be an understatement, however, the taste faded away quickly, along with the rest of the fruit in his hand.

The fruit's aftertaste was also disgusting, but that wasn't what had Gideon's attention. No, he was focused on the knowledge he gained. He was now the player from an MTG commander deck, a white deck that runs soldiers and angels.

Though, of course, the powers of the creatures had been greatly nerfed. After all, a plane-ending disaster is considered a 15/15 creature in a normal game, which could definitely slap around a Navy Admiral. So, to fit the world laws/make an interesting experiment, a 1/1 creature is equal in strength to a marine cannon fodder, and a 2/2 is twice as strong as that same marine. Else, with all the buffs a white deck is capable of, he could have hundreds of Navy Admiral equivalents within 15 turns.

Turns, that is an odd concept now too. That has been adjusted so that it was basically always his turn as he is the only 'player', and each turn lasts a day, resetting at midnight. Combat can happen whenever, just that his creatures could only initiate combat once a day, but defend as many times as needed.

Lands were a varied and annoying subject. Basic lands had to be activated from physical land that he controlled and matched the terrain type and the size. The size requirement for basic land had to be 1 square kilometer. So he had to take 1 square kilometer plains that he controlled to play basic lands. Anything other than a basic land could be played anywhere and the terrain would morph to match the terrain of the spell.

These land restrictions would be a strategic and logistical problem as he could only summon his creatures on land he controlled or within his sight. Normal creatures he summoned would also need to eat, token creatures would not, thankfully.

The most overpowered change involves his library. It is now a physical place he can visit and change out his spells as he likes while still having a 7 spell limit. Every turn he is sent a single random spell, which may be useful when he has to take trips from his 'novice' island.

As the final bit of knowledge regarding his new powers and spells entered his mind, Gideon saw the desk and pamphlet disappear and his 'library' appear before him. It was a one-meter diameter version of the fruit he took a bite of not one minute prior.

'My R.O.B. seems to like his work a little too much' Gideon thought. He noticed that the sun was setting, meaning the time for his first turn was really shortening.
