Capítulo 288: I've got you

(Soren's perspective)

About half a mile from the borders of the crystal palace's kingdom is when I first feel it. It does not start slow, nor is there any build up. One minute there is emptiness, the next minute my chest is exploding with feeling, a rush of life coming back to me as shocks and quivers of sensation run through me- the bond sparking back into life.

"Soren?" Fangorn calls over desperately, running to meet me from up ahead the trail. It takes me two breathless moments to realise I have collapsed to the ground, my knees sinking into the cold, hard ground beneath us as though my limbs are made of jelly. There are cuts over my palms where my fingers have been subconsciously digging into the rocks, and a dark aura seeping off my body. But that is a minor inconvenience in the face of what I have just learnt. 

Shaking my shoulder once more, Fangorn calls again, a couple of notes of panic lacing his deep voice.
