Inside the grand meeting room of the royal palace, King Ramposa III was in deep discussion with Gazef Stronoff, the kingdom's strongest warrior and his trusted confidant. Standing to the side was Prince Zanac, the King's son, who listened intently, absorbing the weight of the matters at hand. The atmosphere was heavy, as it often was when discussing the kingdom's security and the threats looming from the Empire.
The doors to the room suddenly swung open, and in walked Princess Renner, her golden hair shimmering as she confidently entered without waiting for permission. Accelerator followed closely behind, looking entirely unimpressed by the lavish surroundings.
Gazef, ever vigilant, subtly shifted his stance, ready to defend the King if needed. However, his instincts told him that the man beside Renner was no ordinary visitor. King Ramposa, despite his surprise at the interruption, remained composed. His daughter's unexpected entrance had piqued his curiosity.
"Father," Renner began, her voice as sweet and calm as ever, "I have someone important to introduce to you."
Accelerator glanced around the room with mild interest. The grandeur of the palace didn't impress him, what he was interested in was the people. Their reactions, their strengths, their weaknesses—it was all the same to him.
Prince Zanac, with his usual reserved demeanor, looked at his sister with a raised eyebrow. "Sister, you interrupted our meeting for this?" His tone was skeptical, but he knew better than to completely dismiss Renner's actions. She was known for her intelligence and careful planning, and if she brought someone here, it meant this person was worth the attention.
King Ramposa, always the diplomat, smiled kindly at Renner. "Who is this guest you bring before us, Renner?"
Accelerator, who had been only half-listening, gave a dismissive wave. "Yeah, whatever," he muttered, not bothering to show any respect. He turned on his heel and walked toward the door, clearly uninterested in royal pleasantries.
Renner's smile didn't falter as she watched him go. "I'll take my leave now, Father," she said politely, bowing slightly before following Accelerator out of the room. The door closed behind them with a quiet click, leaving the three men inside the room to contemplate the strange encounter.
Zanac broke the silence first. "What was that about? Do you think this man is significant, Father?"
Gazef nodded slowly, still analyzing the brief interaction. "He didn't show any respect, but there was something… dangerous about him. I couldn't sense his strength, but my instincts tell me he's not someone to be taken lightly."
King Ramposa stroked his beard thoughtfully. "Renner has never brought someone before us like this. There must be more to him than meets the eye. We should keep an eye on him—he may be a powerful ally or a dangerous enemy."
Meanwhile, in the palace corridors, Renner walked beside Accelerator, who had his hands shoved into his pockets, looking bored.
"So," Accelerator said, breaking the silence, "what kind of profession around here is interesting? Something that lets me discover new things or whatever."
Renner tilted her head slightly, considering his question. Her mind raced through the possibilities. Given his apparent strength and disinterest in politics, there was one profession that seemed fitting. "You might be interested in becoming an adventurer," she suggested, her voice laced with a hint of excitement.
"Adventurer?" Accelerator echoed, his interest piqued. "You mean like running around killing monsters and grabbing loot?"
Renner nodded, smiling. "Yes, but it's more than just that. Adventurers are called upon to solve various problems, investigate mysteries, and explore uncharted territories. It's a profession that demands strength, intelligence, and a touch of bravery—all of which you seem to have."
Accelerator smirked, the idea starting to appeal to him. "Sounds like it could be fun. Better than dealing with royalty all day, that's for sure."
Renner chuckled softly, clearly pleased. "I'm glad you think so. I can arrange for you to meet with some of the top adventurers in the kingdom if you'd like. It could be a good way to start."
"Yeah, maybe," Accelerator replied with a noncommittal shrug, but his mind was already working on the possibilities. This world was full of unknowns, and that meant there was plenty for him to uncover—and possibly conquer.
Accelerator left the castle with a wave, not bothering to look back as he muttered, "I'll be back later. Gotta check out this Adventurer Guild or whatever. Maybe I'll find something that's not boring for once."
Renner nodded with her usual serene smile, watching as he walked away. Climb, standing dutifully at her side, cast a worried glance after the white-haired man. He had seen powerful individuals before, but there was something unsettling about Accelerator. Something… unpredictable.
But before Climb could voice his concerns, Accelerator clapped his hands together, and his body suddenly disappeared into thin air. Climb's eyes widened in shock, his hand instinctively moving to the hilt of his sword. Renner, however, remained calm, her eyes narrowing slightly as she watched Accelerator vanish.
In the sky above the kingdom, Accelerator appeared, suspended in the air as if gravity had no hold on him. He scanned the landscape below, his sharp eyes taking in every detail, every building, and every person scurrying about. His brain worked like a supercomputer, calculating distances, angles, and vectors with ease.
"Let's see… where's that guild?" he muttered to himself, grinning when he spotted a building that fit Renner's description perfectly. It wasn't far, and it had that typical bustling energy that screamed "adventurer hangout."
"Found you," he said with a smirk. With a subtle shift in the vectors around him, he bent the space between himself and the guild, teleporting instantly to the entrance.
As soon as he appeared, there was a collective gasp from the crowd outside the guild. Adventurers, merchants, and even passersby stopped in their tracks, their eyes wide with shock. A magic user that can teleport suddenly materializing out of nowhere? That was rare enough to make them uneasy.
Accelerator ignored the stares, his lips curling into an amused grin. "What, never seen someone just show up outta thin air?" he said, his tone dripping with sarcasm. His voice was rough, carrying a confident arrogance that only someone with his power could pull off.
The onlookers quickly averted their gazes, muttering among themselves. Words like "dangerous" and "must be strong" floated through the air, but no one dared to confront him. They were adventurers, sure, but they weren't stupid.
Grinning to himself, Accelerator pushed open the heavy wooden doors of the guild and strolled inside. The inside was just as lively as he expected—adventurers of all kinds were chatting, planning their next quests, or boasting about their latest conquests. The noise was almost deafening, but Accelerator found it all somewhat amusing.
As he made his way to the counter, the adventurers in the room slowly turned to look at him, the noise level dropping slightly. His entrance had not gone unnoticed, and now the whole room was watching him with a mix of curiosity and wariness.
Ignoring the stares, Accelerator approached the counter where a young woman was stationed. She looked up at him, her eyes wide with a mix of surprise and caution. "Uh… hello, how can I help you?" she asked, her voice trembling slightly.
"Yeah," Accelerator replied, leaning casually against the counter. "I'm looking to sign up. Heard this is where the interesting stuff happens."
The receptionist blinked, clearly taken aback by his directness. "Y-Yes, this is the Adventurer's Guild. Are you looking to join as an adventurer, or…?"
"What do you think?" Accelerator cut her off with a smirk, his tone playful yet mocking. "I didn't show up here just to watch a bunch of idiots fumble around with their quests. I'm here for the real deal."
The receptionist gulped, nodding quickly as she scrambled to gather the necessary forms. "Of course! I'll just need you to fill out these—"
Before she could finish, Accelerator waved a hand dismissively. "Skip the paperwork. Just point me to the action."
The receptionist hesitated, glancing around the room as if seeking help. The adventurers were still watching, but none of them made a move. Whoever this guy was, they weren't keen on getting in his way.
Realizing she had no choice, the receptionist nodded slowly. "There's a board over there with quests. You can take a look and—"
"Thanks," Accelerator interrupted, turning away before she could finish. He headed toward the quest board, leaving the receptionist to breathe a sigh of relief.
As he scanned the board, a grin spread across his face. "Let's see if this world can actually throw something interesting at me," he muttered to himself, already feeling the thrill of the unknown.
As Accelerator scanned the quest board, the din of the guild hall faded into background noise. He was flipping through potential quests in his mind, already dismissing most of them as too easy, when he noticed a group of four approaching him from the side. They were decked out in polished armor and intricately designed garbs, clearly veteran adventurers. The group walked with a purpose, and the air around them seemed to shift as they neared.
The leader, a tall woman with striking blue eyes and silver hair tied in a neat ponytail, stepped forward. Her posture was confident, almost regal, but her expression was warm and inviting. She didn't have that annoying aura of nobility that some people tried to carry with them, though. Instead, she had the air of someone who knew exactly what she wanted and how to get it.
"Greetings," she said, her voice calm but carrying a natural authority. "My name is Scama Elbero, leader of the Four Armaments." She gestured to her companions, who nodded in acknowledgment. "We're a Mithril-ranked party."
The moment she introduced herself, the room seemed to tense. The peanut gallery, which had been half-expecting a confrontation, was left in stunned silence. This was usually the part where veteran adventurers would start flexing their status, but Scama's approach was surprisingly civil.
Accelerator raised an eyebrow, intrigued. He wasn't sure what he expected, but it wasn't this. "Mithril-ranked, huh?" he muttered to himself, then glanced at Scama with a smirk. "You don't waste time, do you?"
Scama smiled. "It pays to be direct."
Accelerator noted the sharpness in her eyes, the way she measured him without making it obvious. She was calculating, and he liked that. There was something refreshingly straightforward about her—no games, no hidden agendas like that princess he'd just met. Just a woman who knew what she was about. And, bonus points, she was easy on the eyes.
He crossed his arms, his usual arrogance tinging his voice as he introduced himself, "Name's Accelerator. But I'm guessing you already figured that out."
Scama chuckled softly, not at all put off by his tone. "We've heard some interesting rumors about a new face in the guild, and it seems they were true." She tilted her head slightly, as if sizing him up. "If you don't mind me asking, what brings someone like you to Re-Estize?"
Accelerator's smirk widened. "Let's just say I'm looking for something interesting to do," he replied nonchalantly. "And I'm not about to waste my time on low-level garbage."
Scama's eyes gleamed with interest. "In that case, I have a proposal. How would you feel about joining us on a joint quest?"
That piqued his interest, but he wasn't about to show it too much. "What's in it for me?" he asked, his tone casual but with a sharp edge. He wasn't the type to jump into something without knowing the perks.
Scama seemed prepared for the question. "Since you just joined the guild, your rank will limit the quests you can take. You wouldn't want to be stuck fetching herbs or dealing with bandits, would you?" She paused, letting the idea sink in. "With us, you can skip those formalities and go straight to the high-level quests. That is… if you're up for it."
Accelerator couldn't help but chuckle. "You're sharp. I like that." He stepped forward, extending a hand. "Fine. I'm in. Let's see what you've got."
Scama shook his hand, her grip firm but respectful. "I'm looking forward to it," she said, her smile widening.
The peanut gallery, who had been quietly watching the exchange, was now buzzing with excitement and speculation. This wasn't how these encounters usually went, but there was something about Accelerator that defied expectations. And the fact that Scama Elbero, the leader of a renowned Mithril-ranked party, had just made a deal with him… that was definitely going to be the talk of the guild for days.
As the two released their handshake, Accelerator grinned. "This might actually be fun," he said, his eyes gleaming with anticipation. The temporary party was now formed, and the real adventure was about to begin.
Scama gestured toward the quest board. "Shall we pick our first challenge together?"
"Lead the way," Accelerator replied, already eager to see what this world had to offer him.
