Capítulo 29: First Attack

"The DNA evidence supports the alleged grandparent-grandchild relationship."

Alessia chuckled and cried. She felt sorry for Pa and happy for him at the same time.

"Pa, you're not alone now, and I'm really your daughter!" she said, hugging the test result.

Xavier, hidden in the shadows, allowed a rare, soft smile.

He had stumbled upon that information years ago, that Pa was her family. Little by little, she's starting to discover the truths around her; this was the only heartwarming one among them. He wondered how heartbroken she would be if she learned that her mother's death could have been prevented.

He knew darker truths, ones that he would stop at nothing to make sure they didn't see the light of day because if she did, he feared that everything between them would be ruined.
