The words still replayed in his mind as he stared at his wife, who lay motionless on the bed, unconscious from the drugs in her system.

Somehow, her declaration did not surprise him. He had always known about her feelings for him. It was not the first time she had confessed to him what she truly felt about him.

I wish I could wake up every morning with you at my side.

He ran his fingers on her cheeks, touching the softness and warmth of her skin against his. It was the most incredible feeling.

I'm sorry, Andy, but you deserve to love someone better than me.

Unfortunately, he could not say it back to her. He believed a man like him was incapable of love. He would only hurt her. He would only destroy her in the end.

Thankfully, she lost her memories. Although it was a tragic incident, he believed it was for the best that she did not remember that part of her life.
