Sinopse

In the City of Crime, one law stands above them all: Only the strongest can live.

Fighting is normal, extortion is common, and death is inevitable.

Born into a wealthy family yet forced to live in poverty, Kanae Nali vowed to become strong enough to take back what rightfully belonged to her—even if it meant that she had to face the consequences and brave the dangers lurking in every corner.

Yet on the outside, just like her mysterious peers, she was no different from the other high school students living their lives to the fullest.

“Under the ray of light, my ability will only make me die faster. Under the veil of night, my ability allows me to survive longer.”

____
Story set in fictional city. Any similarities with real world's event is purely coincidence.

From the first couple chapters, I became hooked. This story focuses on a society were people are living based on strength, position, and money. I absolutely loved the development between Kevin and Kaene. It is a slowly growing romance of 2 of the strongest people. Kaene is witty, strong, powerful female while killer typing skills. Kevin is a strong, quiet, and has that do not mess with me vibe. He is the boss and clan head. With progress, you see development in both of their lives, their interactions with others and values that they hold close. What I loved most was Kaene as a badass female protagonist and admired her strength. If you like that kind of protagonist, you will love this book. The writer does have some writing errors, but they do not deter from the content of the book. Warning: it might seem like it progresses slowly, but the wait for a really good chapter always pays off.

Imagine drinking a 100 year old wine and drinking a newly brewed wine immediately after! You'll be addicted to the 100 year old wine's taste. Sorahana's novels are like that. In between the cliche plots like rebirth, stepsister and fiance cheating behind their backs, forced marriages, dominating Male lead who cares zero for the female lead's opinion and just bulldozes on, Sorahana's novels are like a breath of fresh air. Her characters are all very relatable, yet very mysterious making you abandon everything else and keep reading it and it only. I was recently introduced to 2 of her novels and I've become her diehard fan. A super interesting plot and nice development of story. There are no dull or boring moments and you'll feel like sitting on the edge of your seat in a movie theater waiting for what comes next. Only drawback is the grammar, but it can be ignored among all the plus points. A good editor can change the novel into an even better reading experience. 😊

Well, Under the Veil of Night by Sorahana was the first novel I ever read when I first downloaded the app. I remember that it was the synopsis that got me hooked at the beginning and the title of the book. I loved the honesty of the title, you know, it made me understand that indeed, a lot of things goes on at night. The Plot unravels at a relatively simple pace and it takes you through the journey of the story one step at a time, stating the necessary and it got me diving in. The writing quality is also good and can suffice, despite some little flaws, trust me, you won't even notice it as you would be so engrossed in the story 😁. The Character design is just amazing and what thrills me the most is just how they are all connected ie. The characters. I love the suspense in the book, it keeps you on your toes, most of the time. What I mean is that the story development is just like a tide or wave in the sea. Sometimes there's calm and at times, there's a storm. It's all good. The principles and theme in the novel ranges from love to hate, protecting loved ones, sacrifice, teamwork, importance of family and friendship, and also fighting. Nevertheless, there seems to always be something that hits you deep down inside. Overall, I love the novel and anywhere I see Sorahana, I stop🤣. Give it a try if you haven't, and enjoy! Thanks Sora for your creativity and effort in maintaining a steady update although I still beg for more😄. Well done👍

One of the finest novel here. The author has great grip on background, story development, characters development, suspense and has a unique and interesting way of story telling. I have read her earlier novel FBFB which was good too. But this one surpassed my expectations. I know some of you might think about grammatical errors which are many but I am sure that readers like me who are peculiar about grammar will agree that it's story, background, characters and everything keeps you hooked up so much that you forget about those errors. That's the speciality of this author which caught me by surprise. I am a genuine fan now after reading till now. I hope the author keeps up the good work and wish you a bright future ahead!! Keep rising and shining!!

In all the books I’ve read, there are at least one or two characters I really hate. But surprisingly, in this book, I love all the characters. Sorahana have built each and every characters really well. I usually hate slow paced romance stories, but the way Sorahana writes it is very interesting and attention grabbing that it draws me into the story no matter how slow the romance is. The grammar can be worked on little, but since the story is amazing that I’ll give this story and Sorahana 10 out of 10 rating. Good luck to you Sorahana!!

'Under the veil of night' is set in the city of crimes where the strongest survives. It's a masterpiece created by one of the most talented storyteller here - Sorahana and I love her other novels as well. The author has a knack of story telling that leaves us wanting for more, not to mention how I feel sleep deprived and anxious anticipating what will happen next. The story has a unique charm to it because of the world the author has created and the amazing characters which leave you intrigued. The character development and background are so thoughtfully laid before us that one cannot stop but get hooked to the story. The female protagonist inspires us to work hard and be determined to achieve your goal inspite of many hurdles thrown in your way. In this lock down if you have nothing interesting which spikes your curiosity, then I'm sure reading this novel will surely make you fall in love with it and leave you for wanting more. ♥ 💕

I like everything about this novel. The FL is badass, the ML is badass, all the Side Characters are badass and extremely well described. The romance between the FL and the ML is going at a extremely steady pace, that is borderline slow. I'm at chapter 298 and they still technically have not started the romance. But the way their feels are written makes sense, is not forced, and feels real, so I don't mind the wait. I 100% recommend this book.

No two stories are the same. Flowers Bloom in the Battlefield (start reading if you haven't already...you will love it!!) and this novel are done by Sorahana but they are both very different. Under the Veil is a story with more mystery about the characters and the background each characters have. It starts slow and stays slow for good chunk of chapters but give it a try and you will be hooked in. There is a lot of layers to the characters and what their objective is and the story itself. I will tell you the story as of Chp 62 of what has been shown is about clans and factions and power.

Honestly when I first read the title of this book, I was like this book is probably going to be boring. But then I read the blurb and it seemed intriguing. Hence, I gave the book a chance. Now, I'm completely addicted to this book. I think the way the author has been writing the novel gives a good story and character development, allowing her readers to understand the character and what some of them have been through. I find the book very exciting and the way Kanae reveals another side to us was unexpected. Still Sorahana is still writing and the novel is still incomplete, but I really like her writing and her updates are very consistent with at least a chapter a day so far and a few mass releases. ( Her other book about Jun Hua is also pretty good)😉. ANYWAYS IM A HUGE FAN OF HER BOOKS SO FAR!!! 💕💕💕

I just wanna say THANK YOU VERY MUCH TO SORA for write such an amazing book. The quality of the writing is freaking good🔥.The whole story is really worth to read for someone who wanted to try something refreshing yet adventurous. For someone who searching for female protagonist who are independent, strong and can stand side by side with the ml, you probably want to give this book a go. And to SORA , keep writing masterpiece and just for you to know that i will always support you though i am a quiet one. ❤

Overall, this book really have amazing characters and stories behind them. Every character had to confront their fear to continue living in harsh environment. Every characters in this story have their own role. I love Kanae character because she not your everyday female lead, she a strong woman, she an athlete and a very responsible sister.

This is actually different from the other novel written by sorahana-tono.. Its partially a fact and fiction though the genre says its magical realism.. But the difference from other novels that ive read so far is that this novel brings you into it. Its not the kind of plot that everyone likes like that of jealous ml and hardheaded fl. Its the opposite. So far, the FL is in slow pace of giving her true character in the story same as the ML, and we dont even know who the ML is in this novel cause there are a lot of boys, handsome boys i add. Though i want Kevin to be the ML but we dont know until we reach the chapter that states that.. Hahhaha.. I like the FL, a typical teenager with good grades even though shes always sleeps in the class.. Very smart...very intriguing... The chapters says that our FL is poor living in a hut but we dont know the hidden talent behind the act. Sorahana-tono our author is very quite, minimal and not gives the readers full blast, well wheres the surprise if she gives that.. Hahhah.. I lovehow the ML portrays.. Cool but not too cold.. Also typical wise boy.. Hahaha.. Ive already love this novel. Ill support this and other novels written by sorahana-tono.. Thank you so much dear author..

During the 1st volume there isn't that much action, but it gives time for world building and let us know the characters. Also shows a clear difference between the 'dark' and 'light' but I won't spoil anything for those who haven't read it. Overall the story is pretty good, there isn't too much constant fighting and there's quite a lot of character building. While there are some grammatical mistakes, it isn't enough to impact the reading and I recommend reading this book. No seriously, it's good.

The story starts with a slow pacing but gradually reveal details in describing the world in many ways like in the character's perspective on how they see things or even in the setting on what and how life is for them. The information you're presented is enough for the moment and yet, efficiently tells each character's background in small hints here and there. Details in telling it is simple but concise, and one can easily see the shape of everything through imagination for it is not too much unlike other stories that are either too vague or too many character information. Another that I appreciate about it is the plot doesn't move fast, it gives you certain ideas on how it will probably go and doesn't leave the readers in the dust. Read this story and you will not regret it. The author is also kinda new in making stories so you will surely find some words that sometimes feel feel out of place but she has improved greatly compared to her other work. Let's support her and be a good reader.

Oh, I read it from the start but I forgot to let a review 😥 Well, this is a great novel, well wrote and well developed, is just too easy to get attached to the characters. The beginning is a little slow, but is funny cause it's like a guessing game, you trying to discover the second identities of everyone. And now, the fighting was began, crush them all Rei!

Just waw! I never liked stories with gangsters but this book changed completely my mind. I just have been hooked for non stop reading for 4 days. The female lead is a badass and the people around are so great. The main love story is so heart warming and even the secondary characters and their love stories too 🥰🥰🥰. This is 2 nd read for this author and she is really gifted ❤️.

I’ll admit, this book is an absolute page turner. It is pretty rough in the beginning, some grammar misha** and blunders, but if you drive through it, it gets fixed along the way so it’s not all miswritten. This book is heartwarming, tear jerking, and suspenseful. You’ll want to root for the characters, cheer for the good guys, cry for the mistreated, and shout at the slow development of the main characters romance. The romance is slow paced so you can savor it, it’s a great touch but also a bit upsetting. Either way, this book is absolutely fantastic. It’s having me between hanging on the edge of my seat and falling off it. I can’t get enough. I want to say that the updates are slow but that’s not true. I just can’t wait for more. So I highly recommend this book if your looking for, action, adventure, comedy, slight drama, and absolute explosive chapters, so please read and enjoy. 😉

At first, I doubt on reading it but it already caught my interest, i'm into FL who kick ass, so this will surely be on my library. It was interesting & fascinating, the plot gives me the reason to continue reading it, most especially the slow development of the romance of the main couple (disregarding other supporting character romance). The FL is my kind of FL in a novel. She is level headed, smart, beautiful(hidden) & genius in her own craft(whatever it is). She is unlike the other rich kid who is spoiled brat or self centered instead she's the opposite. She doesn't standout & that what makes me like her more. As for the ML, he is obviously the ML of the story as he really standsout for his background, demeanor, looks & etc.. As the story proceeds to much deeper, there would be more revelation. As a reader, the slow phase for me is okay it doesn't drag down & it's not boring but instead, it makes it more interesting to read. I also like few interactions with the author as she comment/like our feedbacks to every chapter. 😘

This is an amazing story that leaves you intrigued! The world here is quite complicated but it's executed really nicely so it's not overly confusing and there are little to no grammar mistakes! The execution of the story is very neat and easy to follow and the characters are super likeable (minus the shameless bully girls and basically all of Kanae's extended family). Would definitely recommend this story it's a hella awesome read with action, school life, office life, and gang life mixed together!!! :D
