Chapter Seventeen: Hudson's Proposition X Her Decision [1]
Hudson's wings had been pulled back in and his eyes and hair had stopped glowing as his Spirit Energy had been reigned in and his [Eldritch Descent] was deactivated.
Though his hair was still the same - it seemed to have permanently changed to have all the colors of the rainbow, making him look like a wayward teen with dyed hair.
His now-golden eyes gleaned under the moonlight as he stared into her eyes, unflinching and unyielding.
"Do... Do not come any closer." Felicity could not help but stammer as he continued to approach her.
She was already on the precipice of falling off so she no longer had anywhere to return to.
"Your expressions and mannerisms paint the picture of a confident and fearless valkyrie, and yet your voice betrays you." He sighed before continuing to speak.
"I understand how this might not seem bekeived but... I mean you no harm." He said. "How I would prove that to you... There is obviously no way to do that in one go but I'll let my actions speak for themselves."
At this point, he stopped right before her, the distance between them almost non-existent as he moved his hand up to her waist and the other to her face in deliberate slow movements.
She shuddered slightly at his touch, several thoughts and questions popping up and swirling around her mind.
"What do you want from me?" She asked, making a conciois effort this time around to make her voice stable and peering into his eyes attempting to use her ability to discern if his words hold truth to him - in her experience it was impossible for one to stop their real emotions from showing in the windows to their soul.
"Straight to the point?" He smiled as he added: "I like that."
Bringing his second arm down from her face to join the other at her waist, he sucked on his lips before saying; "I want you...*
Trailing off like that, he caused the turbulence in the nurse's mind to increase so much her pale porcelain skin started to take on a pinkish hue - due to the sheer weight of the endless nunber of absurb "possible" scenarios she had brithed in her mind.
Some notable of these scenarios included a teenage boy that had spotted a younger and more boy-ish version of herself and had instantly fallen in love with her, hence deciding to hide his unique Superpowers from everyone else hoping that she would be the first to witness them.
He had planned all the following years elaborately to get to this scenario - even the part about getting thrown in jail.
As for the part about almost getting sexually assaulted by him, she made up a fuckton of excuses for him - chucking it off to be a simple case of a harmless prank or possibly that he found her to be so easy on the eyes that he lost control of himself and his powers for a moment but his love for her ultimately helped him prevail over his "curse".
She had been right about the part of his abilities going out of whack but everything else...
Yes, despite being slightly inclined to take on things that may be tagged as "boy-ish", this pale beauty actually secretly possessed a heart that swooned for fairy tales.
In that moment not only did she not care how twisted what she had imagined (that someone had stalked her for years) was but she also went on to reimagine him as her dashing prince charming and rainbow knight that would go to extreme ends to be by her side and protect her.
How truly absurd she was being.
This thought crossed her mind as soon as she was broken out of her trance by the completion of his statement.
"...to be my guide." he said.
"What? A guide?" She was confused until he stepped back away from her and added:
"You see, I am new to this world, and I sorely lack information on it. I don't want to go out there and learn about its normsand rules on the fly. I believe it would be best to have a reliable source of information and cover by my side." He continued.
"New to this world? Source of information? A cover?" She frowned as she regurgitated the parts of his "ramblings" that stuck out to her. "What the hell are you talking about?"
She sighed heavily, somewhat sadly, as she said; "Stephan. Stop this ruse. It's not funny. If you want to play at being clinically insane, there are better routes to follow. But commiting crimes? You will end up in a worse prison rather than psych care!"
Hudson's expression shifted for a split second but he immediately regained his bearings.
As he had climbed those stairs to come up to the rooftop to speak to her, he had already decided what "persona" he would create and adopt in his interactions with her.
He had to come off as calm, collected, and somehow... Mysterious. He believed that women loved mystery and hence a being from a different world would be intriguing.
Sigh!
Did he really not think it through and realize that he would just come off as crazy?
And why the hell was his bloodline so silent, opting not to give him advice?!
The heavens really could not understand, having no choice but to only spectate the spectacle.
Hudson, still in "mysterious" mode, stepped forward and shortened the distance between them again - bringing his eyes close enough to hers that he could see his reflection this time.
Neither blinking nor moving his gaze away from the pretty pair of cyan orbs, he steadied his breathing before speaking in a steadily paced tone:
"First of all, it's not Stephan." He pointed at himself and continued; "I am Hudson. Hudson Raze."
"Second, and more importantly, do I truly come off as one who is "mad" to you? Really?"
"And thirdly, last but not any less important, who committed a crime?"
