"Knock! Knock!" The loud rapping on the door made Charrisa groan. "Who is there?" she called out, her voice muffled by the duvet.

"Open up, Charrisa!" Maxwell's voice boomed from the other side.

Charrisa let out a frustrated sigh and tossed off her covers. She swung her legs over the side of the bed and padded over to the door, yanking it open with a hint of reluctance.

"Let me in," Maxwell demanded, his brow furrowed in concern.

Charrisa blocked the entrance with her body, a sly smirk spreading across her face. "No, Dad. I was in the middle of changing my pads when you burst in, and I've made a mess. You really don't want to see it right now, trust me." She raised an eyebrow, daring him to try and enter.
