"Squeak."
With a sound of a door opening, Lin Yi saw a familiar figure eavesdropping just outside the door as soon as he opened it.
"Hi, Liya."
"Ah! Lin Yi." Liya was clearly startled and quickly glanced behind Lin Yi. Seeing people inside the room looking out, she hurriedly pulled Lin Yi's hand and ran down the corridor.
"Why are you here?" They had run far enough away from the reception room when Liya finally stopped. Lin Yi asked knowingly.
"Right, I forgot to report to Her Highness the Princess. I found a dark elf in the palace!" Liya did not hold anything back from Lin Yi, who had once saved her life.
"A dark elf? That is indeed important news. After the meeting is over, I'll take you to see your Princess" Lin Yi smiled slightly. Anyone who had seen the movie "Dragon Nest: Throne of Elves" would know that this princess is set to marry Liya's brother, making her a part of Liya's family. Night crawled across the sky, the bright moon partially obscured by clouds. In the luxurious imperial palace, a figure stood on the balcony overlooking the vista of Saint Haven. It was Velskud.
"You seem down, my lord," said a shadow that had somehow infiltrated the palace and appeared behind Velskud. Sharp, claw-like nails scraped against Velskud's shoulder guard, making a grating sound, "Is it because of Geraint? You should be happy, shouldn't you? The plan went so smoothly, and a Dragon Slaying alliance was quickly formed."
Elena spoke, leaning close to Velskud's ear, her voice seductive, "Victory will surely be ours."
"Mm...Velskud, I want that gemstone. After killing the Black Dragon, be sure to bring it back to me!" A man, dressed lavishly but reeking of alcohol, staggered out of the brightly lit banquet hall. He was overweight and spoke drunkenly. He was the owner of Sacred Heaven, the human king!
Meanwhile, on the other side of the palace, in a corner shrouded in darkness, three pairs of eyes were intently watching the opposite side of the balcony.
"Unbelievable! Velskud is actually colluding with Elena!" Nerwin exclaimed, taking out his elf bow without hesitation, "How did you know?"
"Would you believe me if I said it was intuition?" Lin Yi chuckled, turning to look at Liya, "Do you believe me now?"
"We need to inform everyone immediately. Oh no, the king is out; with Elena's methods, he's in danger!" Liya ignored Lin Yi's teasing and looked seriously at the balcony. When she saw the king emerge, her expression changed, and she and Nerwin stood up, ready to rush over.
"What's the rush?" Lin Yi said nonchalantly, blocking them, "Maybe the death of such a king would actually be a good thing for this country."
"I can't believe this, you're a human!" Nerwin stared at Lin Yi.
"So what? This king will only make the country more backward. Removing him with the help of traitors and dark elves might not be a bad choice."
Lin Yi's words shocked Nerwin, who paused before saying, "The Dragon Slaying Alliance has just been established; it can't withstand any major upheavals. A slight change and the alliance will crumble!"
"Fine! Suit yourselves," Lin Yi shrugged, withdrawing his hand, and leaned against the railing.

"But you're aware of Geraint's attitude, aren't you?" Velskud heard the king's voice and turned to give a slight bow.
"To hell with Geraint. As long as I get the gemstone, I can rule the continent!" The king's words were filled with unprecedented ambition. He continued, "After this is done, you'll be a general!"
"A general? The future king won't care about a general," said Elena, leaning against a pillar in the hall.
"Who is she? She heard us! Velskud, kill her! She heard us!"
"Yes, I did hear," Elena turned her head and looked directly at the king, smiling.
Meanwhile, Velskud touched the dagger at his waist and stabbed the king in the heart with a 'thud.'
Covering his wound, the king staggered back and finally fell to the ground.
Whoosh! Whoosh!
Suddenly, two arrows glowing with green light flew through the air, targeting both Velskud and Elena. The arrows were almost upon them!
The next moment, the arrow aimed at Elena struck a stone pillar and she vanished in a puff of dark smoke. Moments later, she reappeared.
As for the arrow targeting Velskud, a flash of silver light cut it in half, and it fell to the ground.
"Who is it?" Velskud turned around and looked coldly into the shadows, showing clear murderous intent.
"Velskud! I didn't expect you to collude with Elena!" Nerwin and Liya jumped onto the balcony, aiming their bows at Velskud and Elena.
"Heh, isn't this my stubborn sister? I didn't expect you to show up and ruin our plans," Elena said, pulling an elf arrow from the stone pillar and playing with it.
"Velskud, listen. Elena is an evil dark elf. She's using you for her own nefarious purposes!" Nerwin tried to persuade Velskud.
Hearing Neilwen's words, Velskud hesitated and looked uncertain.
"Heh, Future King, we all have our own agendas, don't we? And the arrow is already on the string, isn't it?" Elena still wore her frivolous expression, pointing at the fallen king with the arrow in her hand.
"That's right, the arrow is already on the string!" At Elena's words, Velskud raised his dagger and aimed it at Nerwin.
"Wait."
Lin Yi appeared. He had originally planned to find an opportunity to deal with the king privately, but now that Velskud had succeeded, he might still be able to help.
"Nerwin, this can't get out. The king is dead. If this gets out, the Dragon Slaying Alliance will be no more, and it may even trigger a war between the two races," Lin Yi said.
