60% Transmigrated Into A Ho-hum Novel / Chapter 25: U-jin's Retribution Saga.

Capítulo 25: U-jin's Retribution Saga.

'Why do you make it so arduous for me?' Eun-kyung ruminated in silent contemplation.

As she locked gazes with U-jin, she found herself unable to fathom the events that had unfolded. U-jin, undeterred, pressed his lips against hers once more, his words escaping in a rush that could potentially haunt her if she were to depart from this world once again. The culprit, U-jin, relished in the sight of Eun-kyung's unwavering stare, a mischievous smirk forming on his lips.

"What? Are you not satisfied?" he inquired, leaning closer to her once more. However, this sudden motion shattered Eun-kyung's trance, and she swiftly grasped the impending danger. With a surge of adrenaline, she sprinted out of the car, seeking refuge within the confines of the mansion. U-jin's smile only widened as he watched her retreat, and then he peeled away in his vehicle.

Si-woo, who had witnessed her hurried entry, apprehensively approached her. "Where have you been?" he queried, a hint of worry lacing his tone. Despite being informed that Eun-woo was by her side, Si-woo couldn't find solace in her absence.

"I need to rest," Eun-kyung replied, her voice tinged with exhaustion. She secured her room's door, sinking to the floor with her back against it. Her fingertips absentmindedly grazed her lips, and her mind wandered back to the kiss. It was unlike any embrace she had ever experienced, flooding her being with a whirlwind of emotions. How could he feel so deeply for her, despite their brief acquaintance a mere month ago? It was as though they were reuniting after an eternity of separation, a kind of love she had never encountered before.

With a wistful thought, she mused, "Very funny, Eun-kyung." Just when she thought she had left behind the troubles of her previous relationship, fate had other plans, entangling her in the affections of a vengeful protagonist turned enamored fool.

Frustration welled up within her, and she ran her fingers through her hair. Why did this always happen? If it wasn't the male lead, it was the second male lead, or sometimes even the villain or an unexpected match for the transmigrated character from another world. And now, she found herself occupying the female lead's role. A disheartened tear threatened to escape her eye.

Her eyes glanced at the bag placed on her bed, realizing that Si-woo must have taken it home for her. Eun-kyung stood up and made her way towards the bag. Unzipping it, she retrieved her diary and then settled herself at the desk, taking a seat in front of it. Grabbing a pen from the drawer, she began writing again.

At the apex of the page, Eun-kyung meticulously inscribed the captivating label "U-jin's Retribution Saga." She painstakingly documented his intricate schemes.

Firstly, U-jin aimed to get rid of the people who took part in bullying Ji-woo. However, since Ji-woo was alive, he hadn't executed that part of his plan. This explained why there hadn't been any disturbances at school.

Secondly, U-jin sought to destroy those who threatened his growth and ascendancy. Amongst these, his grandaunt, the stepsister of his revered grandmother, emerged as a prime target, for she had orchestrated the fateful accident that befell his mother. Though her initial aim rested upon U-jin himself, fate dictated that his mother bear the brunt of her sinister scheme. The ultimate objective of the scheme was to vanquish U-jin as a potential heir to the cherished lineage of the Wang empire. In accordance with the Wang tradition, the first male child birthed into the world – irrespective of the birthing mother – assumed the mantle of heir. If U-jin was out of the picture, his grandaunt's own grandson would become the heir. Unfortunately for his grandaunt, U-jin's resilient grandmother, cautious of a potentially recurring dark history, fortified her defenses with fervent vigilance. U-jin's profound sense of responsibility urged him not only to neutralize the threat lurking over him but also to safeguard the future of his older half-brother, who would be next in line in case something were to happen to U-jin. This revelation incensed his grandaunt upon learning of the additional adversary.

Before completing high school, U-jin stumbled upon evidence of his mother's accident, eventually leading to the discovery that his grandaunt was involved in child trafficking. Subsequently, she received a life imprisonment sentence. With this evidence in hand, U-jin's position as the rightful heir became even more secure, especially after his half-brother Diego declined involvement in the Wang empire, opting to travel to the United States after high school.

Lastly, U-jin set his sights on dismantling his stepmother's influence after assuming the role of director in the Wang empire, following his college graduation. Under his esteemed grandmother's authoritative reign as chairman, his father's position in the company was as the CEO, with his stepmother faithfully serving as his invaluable assistant. U-jin who was aided by his granny and the remarkable hacking skills of Eun-woo, skillfully unraveled the intricate web of his stepmother's illicit embezzlement scheme. Thus, he sealed her inevitable fate of imprisonment.

In recognition of this monumental triumph and U-jin's unwavering dedication, the esteemed board of directors swiftly ousted his father from his once beloved post, ushering U-jin to succeed him as the newly anointed CEO.

Amid the zenith of U-jin's ascendancy, an unexpected rival emerged in the form of Diego, his half-brother who was now an audacious entrepreneur fortuitously spearheading the charge of a competing conglomerate. For two years, a relentless, cutthroat rivalry ensued between their respective companies, U-jin, with all the means at his disposal, inexplicably chose a path of restraint, refraining from retaliating against Diego's provocations.

Driven to desperate measures by U-jin's unyielding determination, Diego sought the help of Mun-hee, who was tasked with infiltrating U-jin's heavily fortified corporate stronghold and discreetly obtaining a crucial proposal from its impenetrable depths. Even though U-jin's empire suffered significant damage, he remained resolute, refusing to let Mun-hee escape the consequences of their actions. Consequently, U-jin issued a heartfelt directive for Eun-woo, to locate the elusive hacker. Miraculously, Eun-woo successfully executed the mission, utilizing their technical expertise to bring Mun-hee's eventual confinement within Russia's most impenetrable prison fortress.

Fueled by a burning frustration stemming from U-jin's seemingly unyielding indifference, Diego, feeling utterly hopeless, turned to extreme measures to capture U-jin's undivided attention. In a daring act of audacity, Diego resorted to the drastic step of kidnapping Ga-ram and Ha-rin, desperately hoping to force U-jin to focus solely on him. Sadly, their captivity not only caused psychological trauma but also inflicted physical harm upon these innocent victims. Witnessing the profound suffering endured by his cherished ones ignited an unwavering determination within U-jin to eradicate all traces of Diego's wicked plans.

In due course, Diego was duly apprehended, but he managed to escape his ultimate nemesis by taking his own life, leaving behind a disturbing farewell note that showed how satisfied he was with his malevolent actions. Consumed by an irrevocable wrath, U-jin labored in vain to rationalize the impetus behind his half-brother's sinister designs, beseeched by a tormenting inquiry as to the transgressions that had warranted such malice.

Concurrently, Eun-kyung grappled with an added enigma, as the novel abruptly concluded with the untimely apprehension of Kim Ae-ra, the object of Eun-woo's affection, on charges of heinous murder, bereft of sufficient elucidation. The star-crossed couple, whose collective romance had been inexorably perceived as a manifestation of predestined fate, now found themselves ensnared within the confines of palpable tragedy. In sympathy with U-jin's growing fear, Eun-woo chose to end his relationship with Ae-ra, causing their once-promising union to dissolve sadly.

For Eun-kyung, contemplating the fragmented conclusion of the story, she found herself struggling to find a sense of logical cohesion. As an ardent enthusiast of literary works, she yearned for a glimmer of redemption, hoping that the second male character, in the event of the protagonist's unfortunate destiny, would discover joy and fulfillment.

Disappointed and saddened, Eun-kyung drew the melancholic inference that the author must have been plagued by a disillusionment that made it difficult for him or her to portray the joy of love in his or her writing, perhaps due to a lack of personal experience with love or nursing a broken heart, which influenced the disheartening writing style.

Exhausted and enveloped in weariness, Eun-kyung allowed herself to sink back into the plush confines of her chair. Lost in her thoughts, her gaze drifted without purpose, tracing the intricate patterns on the ceiling. Suddenly, her eyes widened with a realization, as though struck by lightning within her mind. Memories flooded back, breaking through the barriers of forgetfulness, reminding her of the untouched epilogue she had yet to explore. After enduring the heart-wrenching ending, Eun-kyung had unintentionally left this final section unexplored, its secrets hidden in mystery. Could it be that the elusive answers she longed for were concealed within those pages, longing to be discovered and reveal their profound meaning?

But it should have been cleared up since the novel started to write by itself all over from the beginning, the relentless narrative continued to unfold, forging its own path with unwavering determination. Eun-kyung, without a doubt, saw this literary tale as an undeniably melancholic masterpiece, wherein the protagonist found himself incessantly entangled in a web of conflicts, particularly with his kinfolk. Yet, amidst the somber tone, surprising transformations silently occurred—Diego seems to be on the good side, Mun-hee formed an unlikely friendship, and Ji-woo, against all odds, seemed to defy mortality's grip. As the crucial moment of the confrontation with U-jin's grandaunt and stepmother approached, Eun-kyung, her countenance adorned with a tantalizingly mischievous smile, a glimmer of trickster's playfulness dancing within her eyes, accentuating her words, "Let the game commence."

I have no better explanation for my absence of writing for two weeks. I had encountered problems both physically and mentally, therefore it took me long before I could get myself up again.

But I'm glad that I didn't give up.
