Capítulo 82: Sasuke vs One tail
With Danzo defeated, the sounds of another intense battle echoed through the forest. Not far away, a massive figure loomed over the treetops—a hulking, sandy beast, the One-Tailed Shukaku, was locked in fierce combat with none other than Sasuke Uchiha.
Shukaku's immense size and raw power made each of his attacks devastating. Massive claws and waves of sand pummeled the area, tearing through trees and churning the ground into a wasteland. Yet, Sasuke moved with remarkable speed and agility, evading Shukaku's onslaught with precise, calculated movements.
Sasuke's Sharingan blazed as he observed the beast's movements, calculating his counters. Channeling lightning chakra into his katana, he executed strikes that crackled with energy, each one slicing through Shukaku's sand defenses. The advantage was clear: his lightning chakra was highly effective against Shukaku's earth-based sand manipulation.
With each clash, Sasuke closed in, his attacks chipping away at the sand shield that encased the tailed beast. Though Shukaku roared and thrashed in frustration, Sasuke remained focused, exploiting the beast's weaknesses while waiting for the perfect moment to strike.
An hour ago, Otherside of Forest Outskirts
About an hour earlier, deep within the forest, three figures dashed through the dense trees, their expressions tense. Gaara, Temari, and Kankuro were fleeing, moving as fast as they could to put distance between themselves and the threat closing in behind them. Hot on their trail was none other than Sasuke Uchiha, determined to catch up.
Moments earlier, Gaara had abruptly left the arena, overcome by a surge of intense emotions. The strain of his earlier battle had unsettled him, causing Shukaku, the One-Tailed Beast sealed within him, to stir and try to seize control. Recognizing the danger, Rasa, Gaara's father, had ordered Temari and Kankuro to escort their brother out of the village.
The three siblings obeyed, with Gaara's mental state growing more unstable as they hurried through the forest. But they weren't alone for long. Sasuke, determined not to let his opponent escape, had immediately taken off in pursuit, following the trail left in their wake. As the chase intensified, it was clear that Sasuke was relentless, his mind focused on catching up to Gaara and preventing any further chaos.
Temari glanced over her shoulder, spotting Sasuke hot on their trail. "Kankuro, we need to slow him down!" she called, knowing they couldn't keep up this pace with Gaara in his condition.
Kankuro nodded, drawing his puppet, Karasu, from his back. "Go on ahead with Gaara," he urged. "I'll hold him off." Temari hesitated, but Kankuro gave her a reassuring nod. She took Gaara's arm, helping him along as they continued deeper into the forest.
Sasuke skidded to a halt as Kankuro turned to face him, Karasu positioned protectively between them. "You're not getting past me, Uchiha," Kankuro declared, manipulating his puppet into a fighting stance.
But Sasuke was unfazed. "You think you can stop me?" he taunted, his Sharingan analyzing Karasu's joints and mechanisms, seeking any weakness. With a flash of movement, Sasuke closed the distance, lightning flickering around his hand as he prepared a Chidori to dismantle the puppet.
In moments, Sasuke's Chidori tore through Karasu's body, scattering its pieces across the forest floor. Kankuro gritted his teeth, knowing he couldn't hold off Sasuke for long. Realizing his defeat, he quickly backed away, shouting to Temari, "Get Gaara as far as you can!"
With Kankuro now out of his way, Sasuke resumed his pursuit, his speed intensifying as he closed in on Temari and Gaara.
As Gaara sprinted ahead, his gaze fixated forward with an unsettling intensity, Temari glanced back, fully aware of the danger closing in. "Gaara, go! Get out as fast as you can!" she urged. But as always, Gaara didn't respond. His mind was elsewhere, consumed by the chaotic surge of emotions that had begun to awaken Shukaku within him.
Realizing the inevitable, Temari stopped and turned, positioning herself to face Sasuke and buy Gaara the time he needed. The plan was clear: if Gaara fully transformed into Shukaku outside the village, he could unleash destruction on Konoha without restraint. But Sasuke's relentless pursuit had disrupted everything.
Sasuke finally closed in, and Temari swung her fan with fierce resolve. "Sasuke, you're not getting past me!" she declared, determination hardening her voice.
In the distance, Gaara's form was shifting. Sand began swirling around him, solidifying into the familiar shape of Shukaku's features. Though his transformation wasn't complete, Gaara's size remained human-like, but the feral glint in his eyes and the sand coating his skin signaled the beginning of the beast's emergence.
Sasuke's gaze flickered from Gaara to Temari, unfazed. "Get out of my way, Temari. Naruto asked me not to hurt you," he said coolly, his Sharingan locked onto her.
Temari glared defiantly. "Even if Naruto asked you, I'm not letting you hinder Suna's plan," she said, bracing herself.
"Then, so be it." Sasuke's voice was steady, and in a swift blur, he closed the gap with a Body Flicker Technique. Before Temari could react, he struck the side of her neck with a precise chop, instantly knocking her unconscious. She crumpled to the ground, leaving Sasuke with a clear path.
As Temari fell unconscious, Sasuke turned his attention fully to Gaara, who was now consumed by Shukaku's influence, his twisted grin revealing the transformation's full effect. Gaara's form continued to expand, his sand-cloaked body morphing into a monstrous, tailed-beast-like figure, though still partially humanoid in size. The ground trembled beneath them as Shukaku's power surged through Gaara.
"Finally… someone I can kill!" Gaara growled, his voice a distorted blend of his own and Shukaku's, as he glared at Sasuke with bloodlust in his eyes.
Without hesitation, Sasuke sprinted toward Gaara, lightning crackling along his hand as he gathered chakra. "Chidori!" he shouted, thrusting his lightning-infused hand forward, aiming to break through Gaara's sand defense.
Gaara instinctively raised a massive shield of sand, but Sasuke's Chidori tore through it with a powerful crack, leaving a gaping wound across Gaara's shoulder. However, Shukaku's influence quickly filled the wound with sand, healing it almost instantly. Gaara laughed maniacally, seemingly unfazed by the attack.
Sasuke gritted his teeth, realizing he would need more than sheer force to bring Gaara down. His Sharingan analyzed Gaara's movements, searching for weaknesses. He leaped back, maintaining his distance as he strategized his next move.
"I'll crush you!" Gaara roared, thrusting his arm forward as a massive wave of sand shot toward Sasuke. Dodging to the side, Sasuke infused his katana with lightning chakra and dashed forward, using his speed to outmaneuver Gaara's attacks.
The two continued to clash, Sasuke's lightning-infused strikes countering Gaara's relentless sand. Each attack pushed Gaara further into Shukaku's control, his size gradually increasing as his transformation advanced. Sasuke knew he had to end this quickly, or the fully awakened Shukaku would become a far greater threat to the entire village.
