"Why are you still here, HuaZhen?" Madam Mu said as she leaned over the balcony, looking over her packed brothel with a vacant expression. XueYa and Tu ShuYin had just left the brothel, and with her vision, she had seen enough to know the truth.

Sheng Hai had made a lot of mistakes in courting Tu ShuYin. But with a sorcerer and shifter pairings, very few couples were successfully brought together - and even less could stay together.

"You are pushing XueYa to pursue his goals," Mang HuaZhen said as he poured himself a drink and took a seat before the floor table, facing the low balcony railings. "But he has a mate now. For once, I want to stop him."

"Desperate," Mang HuaZhen offered, and madam Mu shot him a keen look. "If I were you, I would do the same. I do not blame you. I merely don't want XueYa to put himself in danger now that he has found a home to return to."
