Capítulo 6: Eternal Thor Part VI

Tantalus' death had a massive impact on the direction of the war. The death of many of his elites only compounded that impact making it much more profound. Since then, the Eternals along with the revitalised human race pushed against the Deviants.

First Valusia was secured.

Then the smaller kingdoms of Farsun and Verulia to the south were secured next. Kamelia and then Thurania in the centre of the Thurian continent were freed soon after. By that point, however, the Deviants were too busy fighting one another for power that they had over the remaining kingdoms of Lemuria, Zarfhaana, Commoria and Grondarr. For that reason, Thor had convinced the Eternals to withdraw from the war and allow the Deviants to continue fighting one another.

Bu t doing so, they would be weakening themselves and in the meantime, the Eternals could take this time to recover and recoup their losses. The civil war and then the war against the Deviants had cost the Eternals greatly, their numbers had dwindled.

Thor estimated that without Tantula or his Peacekeepers to support Pelops or Lucian, the Deviants would continue to fight one another for many years to come. Possibly even decades if they were lucky. The fact that Vingthor after his battle against Kronos, Zuras and A'Lars had been severely injured to the point of not being seen or heard from since showed that the unification of the Deviants was highly unlikely for a long period of time.

That was good news for all, even Thor was pleased.

He doubted Vingthor was dead, they may have slight differences in character, but they were both too stubborn to die that easily. However, he was out of action for some time, which was good for Thor because he didn't really want to have to try and rectify his counterparts mistakes again.

'What I need to do right now is find out where he is.' Thor thought to himself with a frown. 'If I can do that, I can put an end to all the problems we've been having by beating some sense into him. And if that doesn't work, kill him.'

As Thor finished his mourning training, he went to make his way back into the cave he had called home for many years. It was a natural formation, though he had hollowed it out many times in order to make it more accommodating. Other than that though, it hardly looked fit for living but Thor didn't care about comfort.

He didn't spend much time in there and when he did, he was so exhausted he would fall asleep without a care in the world. Practically all his time, Thor spent outside training and improving himself further, reaching new heights.

But in that instance, as Thor was about to enter, he suddenly came to a stop. All around the planet, those capable of sensing the comics energies copied him, eyes widening slowly as their hairs stood on end. Rapidly back-pedalling, Thor turned to look out over the landscape to see a large ship breaking through the planet's atmosphere.

"Why are they here?"

Kronos watched with a smile upon his face as he watched the Celestials arrive towards their home. Finally, their Gods would return to them and end the Deviant scourge that had afflicted their planet for centuries. They had answered his prayers after so many years of silence.

But in that instance, something truly shocking happened, a beam of energy so powerful that it seemed to momentarily block out the sun shot through the air and smashed directly into the ship. It exploded, careening down to the ground with smoke billowing out from the back of it. There was an instance in which all Eternals who had gathered to watch the Celestials returning to them suddenly felt a lump form in their throats.

And then, in the distance, a figure rose up, towering above all the mountains of the world. A figure clad in brilliant golden armour. Then more rose up, a whole group of them numbering over a dozen.

Everything was still, the Eternals, the Deviants and all of humanity watching these towering beings seemingly stare at one another, or at one in particular. The one in radiant golden armour who suddenly erupted with a powerful beam of energy so large it shone across the cosmos. Yet, the Celestials it fired upon did nothing and instead combined their energies to deflect the beam away.

It cut through the air, not even touching the ground yet causing it to erupt outwards. Just the sheer force of it caused mass destruction on a scale never before seen. Then it struck with titanic force, the entirety of Earth-shaking violently, a blinding ball of light engulfing a vast portion of the continent and destroying it all.

That area had been the Valusia Kingdom, all of its inhabitants gone in an instant.

"What's happening?!" People cried out in shock.

Horror set in, this was their Gods, the beings they had worshipped and they were battling one another. But not only that, they were destroying the world around them without a care in the world.

Why where are they doing this?

The Celestials were fighting one another.

There was only one recorded instance of this ever, one that his father had told him about. It was why nearly all beings in the universe feared the Celestials, their power was beyond imagining.

A clash between Celestials was something none had heard or seen, but it was also one that people knew would be catastrophic. But what many didn't know was that the Celestials at one point in time had clashed. The reasons behind why were unclear to many, only that one amongst their number, Tiamut the Communicator, one of the greatest amongst their kind had gone rogue.

As a result, Arishem the Judge, a leading figure in the Celestials presence on Midgard had defeated the traitor. Thor had not witnessed the battle personally, but Odin had and he had told the story to him as a child.

Thor had never thought he would witness such a battle, but he was shocked by the brutality and savagery with which they fought. He had thought that by looking at them, they would be elegant and poised in the way they fought. Yet what he was seeing was a direct contrast to that, it was almost like watching a group of bandits gang up on someone.

In the process though, they were destroying everything around them.

"You are Thor Odinson, aren't you?" Turning, Thor looked to see Vingthor stood there, body hunched over in pain, deep scars in his red matted fur clearly seen. Silently, he nodded his head and despite being unable to see, Thor knew Vingthor was smiling beneath his fur. "I knew it."

"And you are too." It wasn't a question, but a statement of fact. "We're both Thor Odinson, fighting to save our people."

He had other questions, the current situation however didn't leave much time for a proper conversation. "You can feel it, can't you? The connection we share." Vingthor continued. "Divided, we can't do anything, but together we might be able to do something to stop them."

Thor looked to the battling Celestials and then towards the hand Vingthor extended towards him. "Just one question. Why?"

"I'm Thor Odinson, Prince of Asgard. But I'm also Vingthor, a Deviant." He said without a single moment of hesitation, proof that despite their similarities, there were also differences. He was eager and happy to aid the Deviants who he seemed to have embraced as his own, just like the Aesir. But Thor, he still didn't feel like one of the Eternals, he was an Aesir through and through.

"Okay." But Thor had his answer and he already had an idea of what Vingthor was hinting at. A feeling in the back of his mind, instincts telling him to take the hand of his counterpart.

And like always, he trusted his instincts, reaching out and taking the hand.

As Arishem gathered the power in his hands, ready to bring it down upon Tiamat, the Celestials around him turning their attentions to the Deviants, he felt his satisfaction grow. All this time he had spent, targeting only the Deviants for harvest due to their superior numbers, all to gain the favour of their master, the Fulcrum.

Only for a single Celestial, Tiamut the Communicator to attempt to intervene with his plan.

Luckily for him, he had already convinced all the Celestials apart of the Host on Earth to follow through with his plan. Each of them was eager to prove themselves and gain the favour of Fulcrum as he was.

Then a ball of glowing energy rivalling the size of a small moon appeared in the sky. Powerful bolts of lightning erupting out of it and striking each and every one of the Celestials in quick succession. All the unnamed were thrown back in a single instance, a surprising feat for sure considering even the weakest of their kind was beyond even the most powerful of Gods in the universe.

Yet this figure had knocked them back without much trouble.

Even the named, such as himself were not left unmarked by the bolt of lighting, slight scorch adorning his armour. As the other named Celestials turned to the figure, Thor floated within the air, his red hair long and flowing in the wind. A bushy red beard lining his face as his blue eyes glowed with unrestrained power.

Above him, a storm of unimaginable proportions began to grow.

A cosmic storm.

So this is the end of of Volume 1, Eternal Thor and this should give you an idea of what will happen. Each volume will follow a single character until either, the threat they are facing is defeated. B, fuse with another Thor. Or C, reach a point in which story wise, it makes more sense to follow another Thor if they too have a stake within the battle. However as you've seen, this is option B but before we get to the clash of Thor vs Celestials, just know that I need to first showcase Deviant Thor's backstory. That is how it will be working. When two Thor's fuse I will be showcasing the other half of Thor force in a new volume before writing a third which follows the fused Thor. If that doesn't make much sense just wait and you'll see what I mean.
