Capítulo 2: the ritual
Socrates kept following them as they went deep into the woods. After a while he saw a campfire and some people standing around it . With a glance he knew that this was not a costume party as he expected, They were chatting and discussing something with each other.
As joshua met with the group they discussed something and moved further towards the deeper parts of the forest. The weird thing that Socrates noticed was that all the members of this group wore the same kind of hooded costume. the only difference being that the small symbols that were depicted on their left chest were different.
Socrates [ are these people some cult or organization like the illuminati or freemasons , I will keep watch and take some pictures.
Soon they reached a mountainous area filled with big rocks there was a big cave entrance on the slope. The costumed figures entered the cave while the underling kept watch outside.
After taking some pictures and sending it back to his colleague with a message, he stealthily moved towards the entrance using the big stones as a cover.
It took him some time to enter the cave, when he reached the end of the cave, there was already some fire lit up and the costumed people were conducting some rituals around a sinkhole .
But what made Socrates mad, was the small silhouettes that were bound with rope and was lying on the ground. The missing girl was there along with three other children. He knew these people were up to no good.
He took some more pictures and send it, while waiting for backup. He was praying in his mind for the ritual to be a long one, so that nothing bad would happen to the children until the force arrived.
But there was no god to answer his prayer, in this evil place. He saw the guy who was leading the ritual take a stone tablet which had some weird symbols, and lift it above his head. one of the costumed guys went to the side and brought a child towards the sink hole and took out a knife.
Socrates could not hold back any longer. he had already taken out his revolver and was ready to engage at any time.
Socrates " Hands up ... nobody move ... you drop that knife and let the child go..."
But the costumed people were looking at Socrates with mocking eyes like an idiot had made an entrance, they didn't even pause what they were doing but one of the costumed men just rotated the stick that he was holding slightly.
All of a sudden Socrates started feeling dizzy, it was like he was about to enter a deep sleep the next second, his hands were already dropped and he was going to completely faint.
He was struggling to keep awake but he was losing the battle of wills, and as he was fainting he saw the sharp edge of a stone towards his left. he deliberately controlled his body so that his face would hit the stone when he falls.
And his effort paid off, the sharp edge hit perfectly under his left eye and the pain jolted him awake. He didn't cry or stop, he did a roll and took his gun from the ground and aimed it at the guy who was going to kill the child. He took the shot and it hit the bullseye the guy fell dead.
Socrates didn't stop he had already seen that the stone tablet held by the leader was emitting red light. whatever it was he had a bad feeling about it, so he took the second shot at the stone tablet.
This time also, it was a bullseye but the stone exploded like a grenade hurting the leaders hand badly. But a weird red vapor came out of the explosion and an angry roar was heard from the sink hole. the red vapor entered the sink hole and some weird phenomena started happening.
Earth started quaking all of a sudden and gust of wind started appearing inside the cave. Socrates could see that something was revolving inside the sinkhole and the sinkhole started absorbing everything towards it like a black hole.
The leader shouted " you fool , what have you done. We have waited and prepared for this Halloween for decades .... if the ritual have been completed properly, our master would have returned to earth once more and cleansed this planet with his power..... now because of you everything has gone to drain and the master is angered. you will face the consequences now..."
But Socrates had no time for what this guy was saying because the child was getting absorbed to sinkhole. He ran towards the child and before the child was absorbed he caught her.
he pulled the child back and rolled with the child to a corner, but when he was still half way, a loud sound was heard from the sinkhole and a black light came out of the sinkhole like a snake and coiled around his leg pulling him towards the sink hole.
He couldn't escape in time and was pulled into the sinkhole...
