Capítulo 4: Chapter 4: The origin of the Lannister Family

Apart from being a distant relative of Queen Calanthe, Lann's father also became her great admirer. Not only did he go out of his way to join the Queen's Guard and follow her in her wars, but he also sought to obtain the same title as her.

Lann's father had been pursuing the title of 'Lion' until he was almost thirty years old. Finally, he was forced by other elders to get married, and Lann was born. Even after her marriage, Queen Calanthe continued to treat her father with respect and could be considered kind to Lann.

The Lannister knight finally blocked an arrow for the Queen in a foreign war, killed three enemies one against three, and led the queen out of the siege. He died of exhaustion. After the victory of the war, the bards also wrote poems in his honor, such as 'Lion Guard' and 'Brave Lion Knight', which can be considered as achieving his wish.

The Lion Knight died protecting his Queen.

Her Majesty the Queen later made Lannister a hereditary Earl, allowing her own family to be established with her name as a surname.

As a 'Lion fan', Lannister had already prepared lion crests and other things without the knowledge of others, originally just for his own collection. As a result, it was just right, with clan emblems and all, the Lannister became a veritable 'Lion Family'.

What is saddening is that Lann's mother, the countess Lannister, truly loves her husband.

Lannister was brave and good-looking when he was young. In his private life, he was also clean for well-known reasons. He has always been the dream lover of the girls of Cintra.

Mrs. Lannister, who had constantly heard the stories about the Lannister Knight, had always considered being able to marry the lover of her dreams as the greatest luck of her life. Shortly after her husband died, she also died of melancholy, leaving her son Lann alone.

Lann also fell seriously ill due to this, and the newborn 'Lion Family' was almost wiped out and as a result, there was an opportunity for a soul from Earth to possess his body.

"You will definitely be better than the master." The old housekeeper looked at the handsome young man in the mirror and had mixed feelings for a moment. Many years ago, he personally dressed an equally handsome young man in fine clothes when he obtained the knighthood.

"You will definitely be better than the master." The old housekeeper emphasized again, "Both the master and the madam firmly believe this."

Lann stepped forward and hugged the old man gently, and he waved his hand and pressed him down. The butler again began to arrange his clothes and hair, which had been neatly arranged by Hardy.

The door of the castle hall was opened, and banquet tables were spaciously and neatly placed along both sides of the wall. They were already full of people.

Seeing Lann's arrival, the originally noisy crowd suddenly began to chat in increasingly lower voices. The nobles who knew Lann greeted him courteously and exchanged pleasantries; The gentlemen who were friends with him embraced him warmly; The noble ladies turned around with flushed faces and stared after he passed by them.

The Queen and the King sat on the two thrones at the end, with extraordinarily sumptuous dishes in front of them. The runner-up in the swordsmanship competition was standing aside in armor. When he saw Lann's smiling face, he gave a big eye roll in return.

He is the Queen's Guard, and he may not be able to eat at all and will have to stand all the time during the whole banquet.

Of course, as the protagonist, Lann may not be able to enjoy the banquet.

There is a smaller throne of the same style next to the Queen. A little gray-haired girl is sitting on it, turning her head and eyes restlessly. When she saw Lann coming, she was about to get up to greet him enthusiastically, but the grandmother behind her immediately stopped her and pressed her down on her seat again.

Lann saluted the Queen and the King at the foot of the steps of the throne. The nobles below also became quiet when they saw this, knowing that the main show was about to begin.

Queen Calanthe stood up with a smile, holding a wine glass in her left hand to signal to the nobles sitting down:

"Everyone, the person standing below is the son of Lannister, my nephew, and the champion of this tourney. I believe you all know it!"

"Lann!" someone cheered in the audience.

Lann nodded politely around him, smiling, modestly and politely.

"Originally, I planned to make the champion of this tourney a knight and give him the honor of joining my Guard." Calanthe smiled. "But now it's obviously inappropriate."

The knights and nobles below laughed in unison.

"So, I decided to give Lann an extra territory!" Calanthe said loudly, causing a wave of exclamations. "At the same time, I also completed something that should have been done long ago. Officially canonized my nephew to inherit my brother's Lordship, Lannister!"

The banquet hall suddenly burst into deafening cheers and applause. Queen Calanthe slowly walked down the stairs holding her sword, Lann took a step back and knelt on one knee.

The Queen drew her sword and tapped Lann's shoulder solemnly. The gray-haired girl stared at the blond boy intently. No one cared about her standing up involuntarily. Even the grandmother behind her was attracted by the blond boy.

The two people in the canonization ceremony were the only focus of the audience. Two rows of ceremony officers came out from the side and presented the earl's cloak and other ritual utensils on a plate covered with red velvet.

"Lannister!"

The solemn ceremony ended. I don't know who took the lead in shouting, and cheers rang out in the banquet hall again.

"Lan! Lann!" The gray-haired girl jumped excitedly and shouted.

Queen Calanthe opened her arms to ask everyone to be quiet, helped Lann up and asked him to step aside. She faced almost all the civil servants and military attachés of Cintra gathered there and said loudly:

"In addition to my nephew's canonization ceremony, I have another news to announce today."

"In recent years, the Nilfgaardians have been harassing us. Although we have chased them away time and time again, they are like fleas on a wild boar and cannot be completely eliminated!

"Yes!" One of the generals below drank too much and shouted angrily, "But we are not afraid of the Nilfgaardians, and we are not afraid of war!"

"Yes, yes." Queen Calanthe nodded and signaled the general's family to take care of him. "But now, we don't have to worry about the Nilfgaardians anymore, because we have found a new ally. The Kingdom of Verden."

"My granddaughter Ciri has reached the age where she can choose a husband, and I have decided to betroth her to Prince Kistrin of Verden. As the bride price, Verden will give us a considerable army, and from now on the two kingdoms will be inseparable and will fight together!"

The banquet hall suddenly fell silent.

Everyone looked at each other in confusion, not knowing who started it, but then they burst into warm cheers.

The Queen nodded with satisfaction, slowly sat back on the throne and enjoyed the wine.

Ciri was stunned in her small seat and was pushed back to her seat by the grandma before the eyes of the audience gathered.

While they were drinking and drinking, Lann heard someone whisper. "Isn't Verden our vassal? Why should our princess get married?"
