It had been a terribly long day for Cade. He’d spent most of his time fighting with Kieran about going back home to Colorado. Kieran and their father just weren’t letting it go. Even Devon was trying to push him to go back.

It seemed like Josh and Fiona were the only ones that weren’t stoked at the thought of Cade leaving New York. Sure, Cade had a responsibility to care for his father, but he was trying to do more than that. He was trying to find a cure for them!

Cade’s phone dinged with a message from Fiona. It read: See you tonight?

‘Yes, please,’ Cade typed back. He hadn’t been able to see Fiona in a while and after the day he had, he just wanted to spend some uninterrupted alone time with her. He didn’t want to avoid reality, per se, but putting it on pause and just having a peaceful, blissful evening was what he needed.
