"This place gives me the creeps," Aurelia muttered, her hand tightly gripping the hilt of her sword. "Keep your wits about you, Dravis. I don't trust this silence."
Dravis nodded, his gaze focused and intense. "Stay close," he said, his Draven calm and steady. "These ruins are ancient. There could be traps."
As if on cue, the ground beneath them shifted, and a series of sharp spikes shot up from the floor. Draven reacted instantly, grabbing Aurelia and pulling her back just in time. The spikes missed them by inches, retracting back into the ground as quickly as they had appeared.
