Capítulo 12: Trusted? Not yet - I

Björn Mekkelsen did not bother to look away and Jade was very much aware of his impenetrable gaze on her.

It appeared that the elder Mekkelsen was not as trusting as his son was, but the same reason applied for him as it did for Malfrid when it came to trusting her. She was Malfrid’s mate.

"Björn, stop," Ida, very discreetly, whispered to her mate before going back to eating her food. By the expression of the retired Luna, she was irritated to the bone, which meant that this happened more times than necessary.

Jade would not have caught the whisper if she hadn’t been paying attention to both of them. Somehow, her gut feeling told her that there was a reason why this dinner had happened.

"Jade," Ida spoke up after a short amount of time. "Have you heard about pregnant female wolves?"

Jade chuckled, thinking back to how the women had shoved candy at her. "I loved the sweets."
