Capítulo 80: Chapter 79
Ash went to the Guardhouse where everyone would be after he left Amyra's house. He saw a lot of humans around it today which was a very weird site, the elves were gawking at them and they were gawking at the elves, it was truly sad that they shared borders yet they knew so little about each other.
He also got a lot of stares from both elves and humans as he walked by. They had all seen him play an important part in the battle and in defeating Gurg, he had a helmet on for most of the part, but there weren't too many lightning wielders around. More weird for Ash was the fact that the humans were also looking at him curiously, a few weeks ago he would have done anything to get to be like one of these men, they all looked like proper warriors. It was funny that he was getting more nervous by the stares the female humans were giving him than the female elves.
He entered the guard house and found everyone gathered in the meeting room, where once Michael and Ronin had used the mirror to talk to them, they were actually standing.
"Look the hero returns!" Michael announced his entry. There were some claps and cheers but they were sushed immediately by the look Michael threw at them, he was just making a joke.
"You should talk to your friends if you want, we'll be leaving soon," said Michael and left.
"So soon?" he asked Ronin.
"It would be better with all the humans out there, we should take this slow, few days at a time, to give them some time to adjust to each other," he said.
Ash looked around there were a lot of people he needed to talk to.
"It was great knowing you, Mr. Blake, I hope like Derek we keep seeing each other in the future, he has found a great student with you," said Silv.
"It was great being your bodyguard," said Farin.
Ben, Sarah, and Hailey shook hands and hugged.
"Don't look so sad, human, we'll meet again, I have found out where this south tower is, keep a lookout for me in the shadows," said Maya clapping his back. He wanted to share more than a hug with her but there were too many people around.
"Princess," he said to Aria, she was the last left.
"Thanks for helping me save my people, I had no idea what we'd be heading into when I had brought you with me," she said.
"Me neither," he said.
She hugged him and whispered in his ears "You were a great boyfriend, when things here are settled I'll come and take what you owe me,".
"Good luck, and I'll be waiting," he said.
"No one is left then?" said Michael.
"Wait, what about Gurg, I mean I never told you about that second witness," he said.
"It's fine, we found enough evidence in his men's rooms, they weren't that clever as him, and you remember that man we captured that night, he is very eager to talk too," said Maya winking.
Just then an elf came running inside, he was too out of breath and looked very troubled.
"What is it, Fred?" asked Silv.
"Captain, there is a, outside, in the sky, we don't know," he panted trying to make a sentence but they couldn't understand anything so they ran out to check themselves.
When they got out they saw everybody looking up in the sky, they looked up to see a giant griffin descending from the sky. It landed in the middle of the ground and sitting on top of it was an Amazon, she had a big spear on her back and a steely expression.
"I am looking for Ash Blake," she said in a loud and powerful voice which made everyone shudder a little.
"What do you want from him?" asked Silv.
"He is my mission elf, If you come between me and my mission you will become my enemy and I'll have to eliminate you, so tell me where is Ash Blake?" she said in a matter-of-fact tone, and for some reason they all believed that she could kill everyone present there easily just by her resolve.
"I am Ash Blake," he said stepping out, he didn't remember seeing her with Sasha or Yuri.
"I believe you know why I am here, come on we don't have much time," she said and Ash remembered what Yuri had said. "I will send a rider to get him". Was this the rider she was talking about?
"I have to get my bags from my room," he said.
"Where is it?" she asked.
"It's in a house over the other side of the city," he said.
"Come on then we'll make a stop over there then," she said. Ash was too scared to refuse so he silently got on the griffin behind her. She kicked the beast and it took off with great speed, its head vertically up, and Ash grabbed the amazon's waist to not fall.
"Wait! I need to take you back, What about Derek?" Michael shouted after him not believing what he was seeing.
"What do you want me to do?" Ash shouted back not believing what was happening.
In the mountains of Waraul, in the depths of the dwarven city built underneath it, in a small dark room, a loud noise of metal hitting metal was coming constantly. A dwarf with a big beard was wielding a large hammer and hitting a piece of red metal again and again, making it more and stronger by adding tension to it. He had done this for decades, his family had been doing this for generations he had the knowledge that all of them accumulated. He was really proud of his work, he knew just what temperature the metal should be, the color, and the number of blows it needed for the perfect results. The door to his workroom opened and another dwarf entered this one a female, she was similar in height but much thinner yet her arms also seemed to be very strong.
"Is it done father?" she asked.
"Perfection requires time, Ciara!" he grunted wiping sweat from his forehead.
"I know, I know, it's just I can't wait to get my first hammer," she said.
"You must treat it like a part of you, make it stronger, and add your personality to it," he said.
"I can't wait to show it to, Roisin, her mother completed hers two days ago and she has been boasting about it since then," she said.
"Niamh is good at her work, but yours will be best Ciara, trust me, they always take it out too soon, your father knows what he is doing," he said.
"When is the festival?" asked her dad.
"You know when it is, in three days!," she said.
"I was just checking if you remember," he said laughing.
"How can I forget it? No one my age can, It's our first chance to prove our metal, there will be coppers from all the clans coming to participate, I want to win and take the favor of the elder so that I can ask for a gift from her," she said.
"Don't worry, you have got my blood, and look at your elder brother he is already an iron, you will do great too," he said.
"yeah, I can't wait to see the other classes fight, I have heard the Seltics are even bringing a gold to show off," she said.
"Well, I will only wait to watch your and your brother's event, I'll have to leave for the five heads meeting soon," he said.
"Which elders are going to the meeting?" she asked.
"Elder Rahm and Elder Maeve," he answered.
"I wanted to ask Elder Maeve to take me under her," said Ciara.
"Don't worry, you win your fight and I will ask her personally, then you can come with us to the meeting too," he said.
