Devin walked with flowers in his right hand. He gripped at it as he got closer to the old man's grave who once begged for his own life and for the life of Angeal, the very woman he is about to marry.

As he neared towards the grave of Gladios, he felt nervous that what might transpire will be the opposite of what he wanted.

As he stared at the grave, memories of the past flashed backed.

'Please I beg of you... save my granddaughter,' the old man begged him many years ago, making the Soul Eater sigh with the recollection of the memory. 

"You were meant to see me, weren't you?"

Devin spoke as if Gladios was there. Thinking to himself, he thought about how life could have been different if Gladios did the opposite. 

What if he didn't love his granddaughter?
