Kring .... kring ... kring ...
The sound of my room alarm rang so loudly that everyone who heard the alarm would wake up quickly because the sound could deafen everyone who heard it.
I, who was sleeping soundly, woke up from my sleep because the alarm sound was so close to my ears.
"Nad, turn off the alarm!!!" Niko shouted in annoyance with his eyes still closed as he changed his sleeping position, while picking up a bolster that was beside me to prop up his feet.
"Yes, just a moment," I replied in a voice that sounded quite hoarse.
I immediately took the Doraemon-shaped alarm clock from the top of my dressing table. After successfully taking it, I immediately resumed my sleep.
A few minutes later
"Good morning, my dear."
I looked at Niko's face who had just woken up from a deep sleep with my sweetest smile.
"Morning, my dear," Niko replied hoarsely.
"Let's have breakfast together. I've prepared a delicious breakfast for you."
Niko nods his head and smiles a simple smile. I smiled back at her, then hurried to the kitchen. However, Niko suddenly grabbed my hand and pulled me until I fell into her arms.
"What's wrong, Nik?" I asked nervously as our eyes met, causing me to misbehave.
"We're already a legally married couple. So, isn't it wrong if I treat you like this?"
I started to pull the hem of my clothes nervously. Slowly, Niko began to move closer to my face until our faces were so close. I started to look so nervous that I immediately closed my eyes because I was too nervous.
However, suddenly
"Nad . . . Nad. . . Nadia! Wake up, Nad!" someone exclaimed as they shook my body.
I tried to open my eyes, which were still very sleepy and difficult to open. When I opened my eyes, I was so surprised because Niko's face was so close to mine. Because we were so close, we bumped our heads quite hard, making our heads hit each other.
"Nad, you're so used to causing trouble in the morning!" he shouted in annoyance while rubbing his head.
"Sorry, your faces are so close after all!"
Niko glared.
"Hurry up and take a shower! We have a lecture in the morning and don't forget to eat your breakfast. I've made your favorite toast and vanilla milk. Everything is on the dining table," he said quietly and left.
"Yes," I replied as I scratched my non-itchy hair and yawned occasionally.
"Nad?" he said again and turned around to look at me.
"Yes?" I asked confused by the state of my hair that looked as messy as a lion.
"When was the last time you washed your hair?" he asked with probing eyes.
"Mmhhh, one week ago," I replied with a grin.
Niko shook his head slowly with a sardonic look on his face.
"Wash your hair! Isn't it true that the wife of a medical student, Niko Andalas Ahmad Setya, has oily hair that smells like drool? Aren't you embarrassed?" she mocked and walked away, causing me to kiss my hair quickly.
Exactly. The smell of my hair was very strong. The scent was truly extraordinary. Like the smell of offerings for shamans. I really wanted to smell it.
I immediately grabbed my Doraemon-patterned towel and went into the bathroom to wash my hair.
Washing my hair is my least favorite thing to do. Since my hair was long, I was very lazy to wash my hair because it would take up my bath time. Just to take care of my long hair, I could spend a quarter of a bottle of shampoku washing it and spend a long time in the bathroom.
That's how it was every morning whenever we had morning classes. I thought that the moment when Niko and I were talking to each other and looking intently at each other like before was really happening. As it turned out, it was just a dream. However, my dream would never come true.
Just thinking about it makes my hair stand up. Now, things are different. Niko and I have become a legal husband and wife. We can see each other 24 hours a day whether it's at home or on campus.
Seeing each other every day at home or on campus is boring. Especially now, we see each other every night before bed and every morning when we wake up. It's really amazing to be married to your best friend.
Niko and I have known each other since we were in kindergarten. Since childhood, Niko and I have been best friends. Always playing together, always going to the same school from when we were both in elementary school until we went to college.
We also depended on each other. However, ever since our parents set us up, things have been different.
During high school graduation, Niko suddenly said 'Be my girlfriend' and I foolishly didn't reject him at all and just said yes.
When we finally enrolled in the same college, our parents had the ridiculous idea of getting us married at an early age because they knew we were in a relationship.
And, foolishly, we both agreed to this young marriage. Everyone probably wouldn't have thought that we would get married this young. In fact, I myself didn't even think that I could get married to my own best friend.
Everyone probably assumed that we would live a happy and loving life. However, in reality, Niko and I didn't love each other.
Even Niko, who suddenly wanted me to be her lover, wasn't based on love. I also don't understand and haven't found the answer until now. Why did Niko want me to be his girlfriend?
"Nad, Nadia!!!" Niko called, breaking my reverie.
"Yes, what's wrong?" I asked, realizing that Niko had been calling my name.
"How long are you going to smear your bread? Your bread is already melting with peanut butter," he said, which made me surprised when I saw my toast full of peanut butter.
"Oh my, I was daydreaming. Sorry-sorry!"
"What are you daydreaming about in the morning?"
"Nothing. Oh yeah, your dad called last night."
"What did he say?"
"Tonight we've been asked to visit your parents' house. The usual, have dinner together. It's been a while since we've been home. Can't you clear your schedule for tonight?"
"Yes," she replied briefly, concisely and very clearly.
I drank my favorite vanilla milk while looking at Niko who was reading a very thick internal medicine book. Niko is a very bookish boy.
Any book in his field, he would always read it all in a very short time. And, this Niko is one of the proud medical students of our campus.
Niko is very smart. His GPA was always above 3.5. I don't know what his brain is made of, once explained, he can immediately understand it and apply it.
"Let's go now, we'll be late!" he said, closing his book and gulping down his glass of chocolate milk in one gulp.
I nodded slowly. After finishing breakfast, we both immediately set up our dining table and rushed to the front yard.
"Take this," Niko said while throwing the car keys at me, "I'm too lazy to drive today," he said again as he got into the car.
I nodded resignedly and got into the car. The two of us immediately rushed away in a Pajero car that was a wedding gift from Niko's parents.
"What time are you coming home today?" I asked as I drove.
"3 o'clock. Why?" asked Niko, who was still struggling with his thick book.
"No, just asking," I replied later while playing some music.
"Turn the volume down, I'm reading."
I nodded and immediately turned the volume down. Arriving at the campus, I immediately parked the car in our campus parking lot which was quite large.
When we were about to walk to the lecture building, we accidentally saw a couple who was hugging intimately in the campus field. The man immediately kissed his woman's forehead lovingly. I stayed where I was for a few seconds and looked at them enviously.
"Nadia, how long are you going to stay there? Come on, let's go!" Niko shouted, which surprised me.
I ran up to Niko who was waiting for me with annoyance.
When will I be able to make out like that couple? Is it possible for me to cuddle like that with Niko? Is that possible?
