The two of them returned to the mansion together after replying to the king.

It was sunset.

Madam Ji seemed to have a premonition as she prepared a table full of dishes, waiting for the two to return.

The two of them walked in. Before they could say anything, a figure appeared from behind the screen.

"General Ji." Su Jin bowed in greeting.

General Ji allowed Su Jin to finish the ceremony. After which, he looked at her with a satisfied expression in his eyes.

"Let's eat." He did not say much and just gestured for the two to take a seat.

"When did Father come back?" Ji Zhili asked.

"At noon." General Ji glanced at him and replied.

"Why didn't you send someone to deliver a letter? Your son can go pick you up."
