Capítulo 5: Shopping..

Emily and Fenrir finally found a clothing store, as broken down as any other place. Before finding the store Emily had even started to think of going towards the mall, if her luck hadn't turned up.

The shattered glass windows outside the store showed that, the attack came from inside. As someone had most definitely changed because of the red moon.

Emily wondered how the red moon chose it's victims. How was it, whether inside or outside when the red moon came, and bathed the world with its crimson light, some people turned whilst others didn't?

Not just the red moon but also the golden moon, for it to choose Emily in the first place kind of seemed random, something that wasn't planned. Because even partially she was still tainted, and that meant she could've fallen to the side of the red moon.

Being tainted didn't simply mean turning into a monster, but it meant the mind became corrupted, even when the tainted party was aware of his/her changes.

That's why Emily had showed signs of cruel violence during the first three months, before her mine had fractured and left her in pieces.

But knowing the answer to how the moons chose their victims, didn't yet matter, as she figured she will eventually find out. She just hoped it wouldn't be under unsavoury circumstances.

Inside the store, the smell of dried blood permeated the room. Her nose didn't pick up the scent of any decayed corpses, which meant had been eaten whole.

From Emily's fuzzy memories it was rare to find werewolves with that kind of appetite, even when they were really starving. She had learned that playing with their food was ingrained in their DNA, and they couldn't help it.

That's why some humans who found themselves facing a werewolf, didn't die from a simple bite or other various ways werewolves killed. But died from shock, after being tortured.

That's how her parents died, and that's why she went on a rampage, losing herself to the killing.

"It seems even clothing stores can be raided.." Emily commented in wonder.

This store had turned into a dump, the light were long dead, but it didn't matter because Emily didn't need them. But the store was dark, as the moons light could barely make it inside.

Looking around everything was a mess, the mannequins, were broken and forgotten. The flooring was full of dust, blood, shards of glass that shattered underneath their soles, with torn fabrics on the floor.

There were some shoe prints most probably left by those who raised this place. The ceiling wasn't any better, as it showed signs of significant damage, with brown and black stains spreading across the tiles. Some sections were caved in, leaving large gaps that exposed wiring.

Emily dragged Fenrir towards the racks and shelves, but was immediately disappointed by what she didn't find, proper clothes. Most of the clothes were raided, the one's left were ragged. And some were covered in thick layers of dust and blood.

When Fenrir touched one of the shelves, they immediately collapsed, leaving crumpled clothes and some debris scattered on the floor.

"I'm sorry master, I—"

"It's fine Fenrir, you didn't mean to, plus all those clothes were a disappointment, I mean who would wear a dress during the apocalypse?" Then as if an afterthought, she remembered what Fenrir just called her. She turned to Fenrir, and said. "I told you not to call me master didn't I?"

Fenrir blushed, but still tried to act nonchalant, as if she hadn't just made a mistake, "I'm sorry, it won't happen again."

'It definitely will,' Emily thought with wry smile.

She turned around and saw the fitting rooms ahead, and figured it couldn't hurt to check inside for whatever she can find. The worst case scenario she wastes her time, and really has to wear a dress in the apocalypse. Her spine shivered at the ridiculous thought.

She dragged Fenrir inside, and was actually surprised by the array of clothes, she found. She was even willing to overlook, the cracked mirrors. And some blood on some of the clothes, because they were exactly what she needed.

Plus there was a backpack, she could use to carry backup sets of clothes. But she wondered what she was going to do about shoes? She looked at Fenrir, and saw her displeased expression.

"Is something wrong?" She asked.

"Nothing is wrong mas–I mean Emi..ly."

Emily narrowed her eyes at Fenrir, and they seemed to pierce right through Fenrir's skull that she started becoming nervous.

"Do you see anything you like?" Emily asked in a cold voice.

Fenrir only hesitated for a second, before shaking her head.

"So that's it.. it's fine if you don't like something, I wasn't going to force you to wear something you don't like. How about going to the next fitting room, there might something. But before that do you even know how to dress yourself?"

"I don't know mast— but I have a feeling it will come easy for me."

Emily nodded absentmindedly, "you can go on then," and said.

Fenrir quickly disappeared, whilst Emily started checking for things to wear, like undergarments. She found lingerie, but beggars can't be choosers.

"Oh, a suit huh? I guess you could say it's my size."

She found a suit the size of her frame, and thought why not. She put it in her backpack, and searched for something to wear. She found a pair of ripped jeans, though form fitting they didn't restrict any if her movements.

She wore a tank top, along with the black leather jacket, she found alongside it. She took all the socks she could find, and put them in her backpack. As she knew they would come in handy.

She placed some backup clothes, for both her and Fenrir. And while waiting for her Fenrir, she looked at herself in the broken mirror. She realised her hair was a bit long, and decided to style it into a messy bun.

"This eyes are a problem, how will I explained them when I meet humans?"

She even thought of blind folding her eyes, and relying on her other senses. Before thinking it a ridiculous idea. She decided she will just have to make the humans trust her, somehow.

"Master~ I'm back~"

Emily frowned, why did Fenrir sound so damn cheerful? She turned around and gaped at Fenrir, unable to utter a single words. They stared at each other, Emily in disbelief and bewilderment. And Fenrir with a sense of pride and joy.

Emily was so surprised that she even overlooked the fact that Fenrir just called her master.

"Are sure you want to dress in that?"

"Yes, master~"

"Oh.." and not a word was spoken about what Fenrir chose to wear. And the fact Fenrir now calls her master was never rebutted because it seemed to suit the theme.
