Capítulo 71: LEARNING THE TRUTH AND MOVING FORWARD
Of course when I got home that day I wanted to check up on both you and your sister however, I couldn't muster up the courage to do so. The look that you gave me was so sad and I was confused as to why you were looking at me like that so I decided to give you space.
However, the next morning I woke up you were gone, both you and your sister and without a trace of you remaining in the doll house. When Haruko found out about it she cried that whole day and I couldn't help but feel responsible for that. But instead of sulking forever she took up basketball and started practicing really hard, hoping that one day she would meet you again. Even if it meant that her dream was not acceptable by our parents.
To be honest it really suprised me when you tell me you overheard me saying those horrible things about you and I know you were hurt and if you don't ever want to talk to me again I totally understand but let please listen to me and allow me to just clarify what you heard that day because it was only half of it. You can decide what you want to do after.
Its really a misunderstanding, I know that I said all that however i was telling my friends that no matter how much i wanted to scorn and hate you guys i couldnt because you guys were genuinely kind to me not because of my father's status but because I was me and nothing more. I actually stopped being friends with all of them that day because you really made me happy and I didn't want to lose you or your sister but I ended up losing you guys anyway and I didn't even know why so I was really hurt that you left without saying goodbye said Sachiko as she started crying.
Now I really feel dumb for ignoring you all this time , the first day of school when i was walking to school with my sister, I ended up encountering you. Of course I instantly recognized you because of your crimson red hair and your green eyes and the fact that you've really left a scar on me, no I guess I resented you for what happened after I left your house, just maybe if I didn't leave that day I would be a different person. Always happy and smiling, maybe if I didn't look too much into it I wouldn't be like this and maybe my sister would be even more happy.
What I'm trying to say is that I'm sorry for ignoring you all this time without grasping the whole situation that was childish of me, I'm sorry said Tetsuo in a low tone. Its weird that an emotionless robot with no regard for anyone's emotions like you knows how to apologize sincerely said Sachiko as she wiped her tears and chuckled.
That was uncalled for but yeah I meant what i said im sorry , I'll try to treat you better and talk to you more said Tetsuo. Yes that would be great said Sachiko as she smiled. After about fifteen minutes of silence between the two Sachiko sneezes and blew in her hands.
Its really getting cold in here huh she said as she wrapped her hand around her body to feel warmth.
Tetsuo then got up and took off his PE jacket and wraps it around Sachiko. Thank you, but you're cold too aren't you? Then why not share it together. I'm fine don't worry about me. Come on, quit acting all tough let's share it said Sachiko as she covers both Tetsuo and herself in it.
Wait I wasn't thinking, he's so close said Sachiko as she blushed. I can hear my heart beating, if I don't control it he'll feel it as well. Suddenly they heard the door open and a flashlight shining in their faces.
Hey kids are you alright? Its already eleven in the night why are you guys here so late and so dangerously close said the Track coach. After realizing the track coach's word Sachiko jumps up and blushed embarrassingly. We accidentally got locked in the storage room replied Tetsuo. Oh I see thank god that i was here then unless you'd have spent the whole night together. I doubt any trains would be running this late so let me drop you guys off in your community okay.
Let me go for my bag said Tetsuo as he walked off. Me too, wait up said Sachiko as she followed him. Thank you so much for dropping us off and saving us sir, we truly appreciate it said Sachiko. Hey don't sweat it kid, just ensure that you guys reach home safely okay? Said the track coach as he drove off.
Come on let me walk you home said Tetsuo as he puts his hands in his pocket and started walking. After walking in silence for a couple of minutes Sachiko mustered up the courage to ask Tetsuo a question that was lingering in her mind. Hey Tetsuo tell me, what happened to both you and your little sister after you left our house?
After you disappeared how did you guys survive on your own? Asked Sachiko curiously. To be honest Its something that I don't want to share, it's all just a big blur and I would like to keep it that way. Maybe one day I'll tell you but for now I guess I'll maybe have to carry it to my grave said Tetsuo.
I see, I understand sorry for asking said Sachiko. Well here is my house, thank you so much for walking me home. Goodbye said Tetsuo coldly as he left. Jeez, is he really going to keep his word and be nice to me? Said Sachiko to herself as she went inside and Haruko who was sitting by her window spotted the both of them. She then got up and sat down on her bed and sighed.
As morning came Sachiko was walking to school on the sidewalk in a positive mood. we finally spoke to each other and connected on an emotional level , i guess we'll be close or even closer than we were back then. After walking further she spots Tetsuo in the distance and decided to run up to him in order to greet him.
Good morning Tetsuo she said with a smile however, Tetsuo just straight up ignored and walked right pass her. Nothing has changed, I thought that he would have at least greeted me back but....Tetsuo then stopped and turns around slightly and then he said " good morning Sachiko" and slowly turned back around and started walking again. I see it's not that he's not trying. He's just doing it at it's own pace. I'll give you enough space and wait for you Tetsuo said Sachiko as she smiled.
