Capítulo 166: Tower of Soul III

Zalvin Cremlor studied the crowd with a long measuring stair that demanded attention. "For those that do not know. The Tower of Souls has been a part of our noble academy for eons and will continue to for ages past; Within, you will find only an abyss of nightmares only found throughout the world of Alos. Drakes, Wyverns, Undead, Goblins, if you can name it, you will find it."

Aurelia stood wide eye with anticipation trickling down her spine as she stepped forward, unable to mask the smile beaming over her adorable face. And neither Aldrich nor Arthur followed, having felt this was Aurelia's journey.

"Within, you will find death almost at your fingertips, and maybe it is, but it will not be up to me to say. Disciples of Trinity, may your blades guide you! I, Zalvin Cremlor, hear-by announce the grand opening of the Tower of Souls."

Cheers edging on screams resounded as hundreds, if not thousands of students, all filled with raging blood, charged, ready for whatever may lie beyond the gates.

The winds had been chilly this morning, but upon stepping through the grand doors of the Tower of Souls, a deadly aura wisped through the young hearts of the children, stopping them dead in their tracks. Dread crept through their souls and down their spines, causing their limbs the shiver.

"Find me~" A sleek whisper of a fiend's voice echoed, dancing along their spines, as the voice whispered again.

~Find me~

Over and over, the voice whispered as though it were a mantra stirring the hearts of everyone, everyone but one, as Auralia, with her head held high, stepped past the standstill.

Fear did not linger much in her heart, as the pulse of Morningstar kept her heart cool as a god. She marched ahead and up the spiraling staircase towards a door with the Crest of the Styx of Trinity etched on the frame.

"Not so fast!" A sharp voice uttered, but Aurelia had already fearlessly pushed the door open with large sparkly eyes filled with adventure.

The winds howled across her face as she appeared in what seemed like a forest. Startled for longer than she'd like, she walked through the door's threshold into an entirely new world, with others following behind.

"Teams!" A sharp voice of Vesryn snapped, " Let us team up! There is power in number!"

Aurelia's eyes lingered on the knight for a mere second when she suddenly recalled she had been told to bring Ella and Sionn.

"Oh no!" She muttered faintly, " I hope Dumb-Dumb doesn't take dinner away from Aurelia."

She shook her head over and over and slapped her cheeks, " Focus, you've got this."

Pulling herself together, she ignored the gathering of strangers teaming up with each other. Zariel had always warned her about the dangers of strangers, and she took that lesson to heart.

As a mercenary, she'd been betrayed a few times on missions, usually done by the employer who didn't wish to pay.

But Aurelia liked to be alone; she had always felt more attuned to the world around her when she was alone. She usually never felt lonely and would welcome the silence with open arms, something Zariel had praised on more than one occasion.

Removing Morningstar from its sheath, daylight's glint brought on a gold mist around the blade that glistened like mini stars.

She dashed ahead, not caring what she found, but as Aurelia did, something weighed on her heart, an indescribable pressure she couldn't place. It wasn't strong nor was it big but it was present. Nevertheless, it was enough for the young fallen to take notice.

"Master," Eldritch suddenly informed into her soul, "There seems to be a strange warding around this Pocket Realm. It appears to be tempering your soul.

Aurelia's brow creased, and she looked up towards the azure blue skies glistering a magical light when suddenly a seductive, masculine voice reached out, filled with a temptation that grabbed her attention.

"Hello there,"

Aurelia's eyes pivoted towards the bushes and trees a few meters away, "Hello," She replied, readying her sword, only to lower it as a head filled with long silky black hair peeped out.

She stared at the man whose beauty seemed almost ethereal; his eyes were soft, unlike anything she'd ever seen, filled with an almost a child-like innocence. While the rest of his body remained hidden, Aurelia couldn't help but notice the lining of muscles from his neck.

Drool slipped her lips as she gasped, "You're hot!!" She uttered, covering her mouth.

Cheeks burning and heart racing, she looked down, wishing to dig a hole.

"It's not hot." The young man replied seamlessly, "Are you hot?"

Taken back by the misunderstanding, a bit of relief trickled down Aurelia's heart as she found a smile, " Sorry, but what are your—"

"My lady, do not be fooled; that's a woman." Eldrich chimed in.

"Huh?"

"What I mean is that what you see is an illusion; pull yourself together! It's a Nymph. They are usually harmless unless you invade their home. And it seems like you have, careful, or she might attack you."

Aurelia frowned and filled her eye with Acana, but that did little to help. Her alarm spell wasn't ringing, so she knew she wasn't in danger, but she didn't like the idea of being under the effects of an illusion.

Anything could happen under the effects of someone's trickery. With the ability to use Illusion, friends could become enemies and enemies friends. There was no distinction.

"She's not strong, my lady, but Nymphs are a race of innocence, protected by the Heavens. If you kill one, you might be cursed. And with your relationship with Zariel, I'm afraid the curse might be—"

"Aurelia doesn't care!" She uttered as the blade of Lucifer Morningstar glowed with a chilling light. " Aurelia will not be under some illusion." She challenged and fixed her eye on the Illusion ahead of her," Lower this Illusion or die!"

Eldritch went silent and released a sigh. 'She might be learning too much from Zariel. But I guess that's not too bad. It's better than being a fool.' he muttered to himself.

The Nymph trembled and lowered its head, "You won't hurt me?"

Aurelia nodded, "If you lower—"

She paused as the icy glint of an arrow whipped past her head like a bolt of light, piercing through the eye of the Nymph, exploding the back of her head, painting the ground red.
