27.47% The Marriage Deal With Mr. Red Flag / Chapter 25: Is She Wrong?

Capítulo 25: Is She Wrong?

"Are you stupid? Or are you that desperate to get married? Don't you remember what happened with Nick?" Weyna's voice echoed through the house, filled with anger and frustration at Sarah's hasty decision.

"Are you calling me stupid and desperate?" Sarah's voice trembled with a mixture of hurt and anger. "I expected you to be more understanding, Weyna. I didn't make this decision lightly, and it's not about being desperate to get married. It's about finding love and happiness."

"In such a short amount of time? Are you serious?" Weyna's disbelief showed. She knew Sarah's naivety when it came to love, especially after what happened with Nick. He was Sarah's first love, and also the one who caused her the most heartbreak. So Weyna struggled to comprehend how Sarah could inform her that she and Noah were already married.

Over a year ago, Sarah had cried her heart out after the breakup. Weyna vividly remembered the pain her friend had gone through. Nick, being the typical man, grew angry when Sarah refused to have sex. Sarah insisted on getting married first, sticking to her principles. That was one of the reasons they broke up.

Shockingly, Weyna discovered later that during their relationship, Nick had started to raise his hand on Sarah when she mentioned marriage, and that was why she began to grow anxious whenever the topic of marriage arose.

The whole house remained silent for a few moments as they looked at each other, wordless and filled with mixed emotions. Weyna gazed down at the floor, sighing deeply, before finally breaking the silence. "When did you get married?" she asked, her voice now more composed.

"I'm not exactly sure," Sarah's brow furrowed in confusion. "I signed the form about two weeks ago, and just recently, Noah informed me that our marriage registration was already completed."

Taking another deep breath, Weyna stood up and declared, "I think I need to go back home for now and calm down. Let's talk again when I've gathered my thoughts."

Weyna made her way toward the door but suddenly staggered, reaching out to grasp the wall for support. Reacting quickly, Sarah rushed over to her friend's side. "Are you okay?" she asked, concern filled her voice.

"I am okay, it's just that lately I've been feeling drained of energy for no apparent reason," Weyna replied, trying to reassure Sarah.

"Come, let's get you to sit first," Sarah guided Weyna back to the chair and helped her sit down. "Wait, I'll get you a glass of water," she offered.

"No, I'm really okay. I just need a few minutes of rest, and I'll feel better," Weyna reassured Sarah, gesturing for her to take a seat. "You should also sit down, you're not feeling well either," she added, tapping the chair beside her.

"Weyna, your phone keeps vibrating. Did you put it on silent?" Sarah pointed out, concerned that Weyna might not have noticed.

"Oh, yes. Just leave it," Weyna glanced at the screen before rolling her eyes.

Sarah tilted her head, feeling worried. "Are you sure you don't want to answer? It seems urgent," she suggested.

Weyna heaved a deep sigh before retrieving the phone she had almost left behind. "What do you want?" she asked with a tinge of anger as she answered the call.

"I'm in front of your family's restaurant. Can you come out?" the man on the line asked.

"What?" Weyna stood up abruptly. "What are you doing there?" She clutched her temple, feeling a bout of dizziness returning. "I told you, I don't need your sense of responsibility."

"I am not that kind of man, so please, come out before I come in," the man insisted.

"I'm not there," Weyna replied, her frustration clear in her voice.

"So where are you? I'll come to you. We need to talk," he questioned.

Weyna hesitated for a moment, contemplating whether to reveal her location. Eventually, she sighed and reluctantly answered, "I'm at my friend's place."

"Where? Can you please send the location through text? I will be there, wait for me." The man's voice sounded so happy before he ended the call.

"Who is that?" Sarah couldn't help but be curious and asked after the call ended.

"Just a crazy man I met at the club," Weyna replied, feeling woozy and resting her head on the table, trying to alleviate the dizziness.

Sarah pursed her lips, feeling confused. "The club?"

"Yes, it was on the same day you disappeared. That's when I ran into this man," Weyna explained briefly about her encounter with the person she had just spoken to on the phone. "But let's not dwell on him. Now, what are you going to do?" she asked Sarah all of a sudden.

"Do what?" Sarah was puzzled by the question.

"I mean, you've been labelled as a stalker, and your marriage registration has been declared fake. What evidence do you have to prove that you're actually his wife?"

Upon hearing the question, Sarah finally realised something. She fell silent for a while, unable to come up with an answer. "Weyna..."

"Regret, huh?" Weyna stated the bitter truth.

"Actually, I've been thinking about this for a week already. He comes from a wealthy family, and I can't understand why he would choose to marry me. But then..." Sarah's words trailed off as she hesitated to voice her thoughts, afraid that they might be true.

"I don't want to be harsh, babe, but I feel like he's just using you," Weyna expressed her honest opinion.

"Did he?" One thought after another raced through her mind. She came to realise how he had proposed a contract instead of a love proposal. Then she recalled that whenever he visited her, his intentions were purely physical. She was certain that marriage was not solely about sex.

"Think about it, but whatever decision you make, please inform me beforehand. Let's work together to come up with a well-considered plan, alright?" Weyna observed Sarah's stunned state, realising she needed time to process everything.

Sarah simply hummed in response to Weyna's statement.

"Now, finish your porridge. It's already cold," Weyna insisted, pushing the bowl towards Sarah, who had lost her appetite amidst her overwhelming thoughts.

About half an hour later, the ringing bell caught their attention, causing both of them to exchange glances. "I suppose that's the man," Sarah remarked.
