Rasa often found himself deep in thought.
Why was his fate so miserable?
Out on a mission, his knee suddenly took an arrow. He could never figure out who shot it!
The mission failed, and he returned to the village in disgrace. His reputation plummeted, and he silently bore the stigma.
He refused to give up, determined to rise again. Then Kakuzu came looking for him, accusing him of stealing his people.
What a joke! Rasa always had his gold dust with him; did he look like someone who lacked money?
And so...
He endured the humiliation again, handing over all his savings.
Damn it! If Rasa ever found out who was behind this, he'd... (censored for 50,000 words).
This became his lifelong dream.
Later, he finally succeeded, becoming the Fourth Kazekage. Brimming with confidence and ambition, he was ready to soar and achieve great things.
Launching a war against Konoha, he was then sniped. Thirty-six high-ranking officials died overnight. Some of them didn't even have their pants on.
He was filled with hatred!
Rasa looked up at the sky and sighed deeply.
He had thought he had removed the arrow from his knee, only to realize now that his opponent had switched to a cannon!
...
As his memories faded, Rasa stood on his golden sand flying carpet, eyes bloodshot, glaring down at the cluster of Hyuga Satorus. Those rows of black cannon barrels, still crackling with blue lightning arcs.
"So, it was you!"
He spat out each word through gritted teeth.
"Oh dear, we've been discovered!"
The group of Hyuga Satorus, like children caught doing something wrong, covered their mouths and looked at each other.
"What should we do now that we've been discovered? Just take him out!"
The cannon barrels swivelled, aiming at Rasa.
Overwhelmed by rage, Rasa raised his hands forcefully.
"Magnet Release: Gold Dust Tsunami!"
A massive surge of golden sand erupted across the battlefield, sweeping towards the cluster of Hyuga Satorus like a golden tsunami, devouring everything in its path.
But Rasa had clearly underestimated the power of the electromagnetic legion.
"Second Company Commander!"
"Present!"
"Fire!"
"Fire!"
Boom!
A huge flash of blue light split the golden sand wave into pieces, like a shattered egg flower.
Rasa scrambled to dodge, frantically escaping on his golden sand flying carpet. While fleeing, he used the golden sand to form massive waves, blocking the occasional cannonshot.
Wait a minute! Wasn't he here for revenge? Why was he running away?
Rasa suddenly realized the 50,000-word vengeance he had planned had now doubled to 100,000 words!
Clenching his teeth, Rasa looked for a chance to fight back. But every move he made seemed to be predicted, with a cannonball following soon after, forcing him to continue fleeing.
Fortunately, the cannon fire wasn't particularly dense, allowing him to barely dodge.
A term suddenly came to Rasa's mind.
Dog-walking.
"Damn it! Hyuga clan's inherently evil brats!"
Before, I was furious being held at gunpoint by an old foe, wanting to write 50,000 words of vengeance. Now, a whole group of old foes had cannons pointed at me.
Just don't hit my face...
Rasa had no choice but to keep fleeing.
Countless ninjas on the ground watched this, stunned.
"Is that... Kazekage-sama Rasa? Why does he seem to be running away?"
"No way! The Fourth Kazekage, running away with his head down?"
"Kazekage-sama! Hold on! Our puppet squad is coming to support you!"
...
Rasa only took a breather after fleeing into the Sand ninja ranks.
"It's far enough now; he shouldn't be able to hit me, right?"
Whoosh!
Another cannonball landed nearby, killing several Sand ninjas.
Rasa quickly used his golden sand to defend, barely avoiding being beheaded.
"No, it's still not safe. I need to go further."
...
On the other side, Hyuga Satoru had started dispelling his shadow clones in batches, his chakra nearly exhausted.
The reason he chose to drive Rasa away rather than directly eliminate him was due to his own plans. Rasa's golden sand was crucial for his next move. Extracting or scavenging from the Sand Village would be too time-consuming. He couldn't wait that long.
Why not shear the wool from the sheep in front of him? It'd be foolish not to!
"Second Company Commander, well done. We've completed the task the main body gave us."
"Everyone, until we meet again. See you in the rivers and lakes!"
With a series of poofs, the shadow clones turned into white mist, leaving behind a pile of cannon barrels and scattered metal armour.
Hyuga Satoru stuffed a handful of military ration pills into his mouth, closed his eyes, and began restoring his chakra, preparing for his next move.
The battlefield fell eerily silent.
Previously, the Sand and Konoha ninjas had been fiercely battling, but now, they tacitly retreated. Both sides understood that the outcome of the war no longer depended on them but on the two Magnet Release users.
Orochimaru also noticed the anomaly, ending his skirmish with Chiyo and listening to the sensor ninja's report.
"It's Hyuga Satoru! He used some unknown technique to defeat the fully transformed Shukaku and then forced Rasa to retreat."
"Is that so..."
Orochimaru licked his lips, his snake-like vertical pupils gleaming.
Satoru... you always surprise me!
From his vantage point, he could only see Shukaku being struck down by some blue light. Although he suspected it was related to Hyuga Satoru, he hadn't expected it to be so astounding. Satoru's current strength might have surpassed his own!
Chiyo, on the other hand, received reports from the Sand ninjas, her teeth clenched in frustration. She didn't continue entangling with Orochimaru but rushed towards Rasa's position. Both sides knew that the battle's outcome would be decided on the other side of the battlefield.
...
Rasa was still evading, his nerves stretched to the limit. He was on full alert, fearing a sudden blue flash that would send him to his demise. The sight of the fallen Sand ninjas and his own desperate flight replayed in his mind.
Hyuga Satoru's threat was comprehensive. Disappearing from his sight might be the most dangerous moment!
A drop of sweat rolled down Rasa's forehead, surrounded by a group of Sand ninjas. Should he retreat? Shukaku hadn't been retrieved yet! Retreating now would be akin to surrendering.
"What's the situation with Bunpuku?"
"Kazekage-sama..."
The sensor ninja stammered.
"Bunpuku-sama fainted after the tailed beast transformation ended. We tried to recover him... but there were always attacks coming in."
"We've already... lost three Jonin and still haven't..."
"Damn it!"
"Are you telling me that the One-Tail is in Konoha's hands?"
Rasa was grinding his teeth to the point of breaking!
Losing the battle was one thing. Losing the One-Tail was catastrophic!
He must, he absolutely must reclaim the One-Tail!
Rasa's eyes gleamed with cold determination.
