"As expected, the Suna-nin came to ambush the Iwa-nin," Shibi Aburame said thoughtfully.
"Yes, who would have thought that Sunagakure actually orchestrated the so-called massive material transaction," Satoru replied with a wry smile.
After using his method to gather intel, the result left everyone stunned.
The mysterious seller of the vast amount of materials in the black market turned out to be from Sunagakure, another of the Five Great Shinobi Villages. The transaction was like a fishing lure, attracting unsuspecting prey, only for the hidden orchestrators to appear at the right moment and reap the benefits.
Satoru couldn't help but think sarcastically: "Such things can only be done at noon because they will cause trouble sooner or later."
Sunagakure, the weakest of the Five Great Shinobi Villages, showed surprising audacity, making Satoru feel a mix of amazement and bewilderment.
Thinking back, it seemed in the original story that the Third Great Ninja War started because of Sunagakure's Third Kazekage's disappearance, leading them to foolishly initiate a war against Konoha, resulting in their defeat and humiliation.
"Rasa and Pakura are formidable opponents. If we interfere recklessly, our chances of victory aren't great," Shibi said, his expression serious. If it were just one bloodline user, he was confident he could hold them off, but with two, the outcome was uncertain.
"Don't worry, Shibi-sensei," Satoru said with a smile. "We don't necessarily have to fight them. We just need to disrupt their plan."
Shibi seemed to realize something and chuckled, scratching his head. "I almost forgot you had that."
---
In the forest, the battle continued.
The Iwa-nin's defeat was inevitable. Under the combined assault of two bloodline users, the remaining Iwa-nin couldn't hold out, falling one by one.
Seeing his comrades dying in front of him, Yamatsuchi's eyes were bloodshot, veins bulging.
"Damn it! Even if I die, I'll make you pay!"
He quickly formed hand seals and slammed his hands onto the ground, chakra pouring into the earth.
"Earth Release: Mountainous Earth Technique!"
The ground beneath him split open into two massive hemispherical walls, closing in with crushing force as if to pulverize all the Suna-nin into dust.
"It's useless," Rasa said coldly, raising his hands. Golden sand surged from his feet, filling the split ground. Several golden tendrils extended from the sand, holding the walls in place.
With a rumbling noise, the two began a fierce contest of strength!
Debris fell from the massive walls, while cracks spread like spider webs where the golden tendrils held them.
Yamatsuchi had enough chakra to continue holding Rasa in check, but this wasn't a one-person battle. He glanced back.
In just a few breaths, his Iwa-nin comrades had been decimated by Pakura and the Suna-nin.
As the last Iwa-nin fell beside him, his blood-stained hand gripped Yamatsuchi's pant leg, his eyes trembling, throat moving.
"Yamatsuchi-sama, run..."
"Dammit!"
It was as if something shattered within him, releasing a surge of power. Yamatsuchi roared, a line of blood tears streaming from his eyes.
The massive walls held by Rasa trembled violently, continuing to close in.
"Damn it! Still struggling?" Unable to hold off this technique, Rasa cursed, jumping back to escape Yamatsuchi's attack range.
"Get back! This technique is powerful; don't take it head-on!"
Without Rasa's support, the golden tendrils shook and shattered, and the massive hemispherical walls closed with a thunderous crash, forming a huge tomb that swallowed the dead Iwa-nin and the Suna-nin, who couldn't escape in time.
The ground shook, and dust filled the air.
Rasa narrowed his eyes, staring intently at Yamatsuchi's position.
"He's lost his ability to fight after using that technique."
Cautiously, Rasa signalled a Suna-nin from his team.
"Ken, go finish him off."
"Yes!"
Ken pulled out a kunai, feeling pleased. Killing the enemy leader would earn him great merit.
As he approached, he indeed saw Yamatsuchi kneeling weakly, gasping for breath, clearly unable to resist.
"Die!"
Ken's eyes gleamed with a cruel smile as he thrust the kunai at Yamatsuchi's head.
Suddenly, a chilling premonition gripped him. Before he could react, a blue flash streaked by, and his head exploded, brain matter splattering.
This horrific scene stunned everyone.
The Suna-nin stood frozen. In the blink of an eye, they hadn't seen what happened.
Yamatsuchi, after a brief shock, quickly formed hand seals, using his recovered chakra to burrow underground.
"Stop him! Don't let him escape!" Rasa yelled, alarmed.
The Suna-nin rushed toward Yamatsuchi.
However.
The second arrow arrived!
The leading Suna-nin felt a sudden chill but couldn't react in time before his chest was pierced, leaving a gory hole the size of a bowl.
"Who is it?!"
Rasa's pupils contracted, roaring in anger.
As he yelled, a terrifying chill enveloped his back. Driven by a strong survival instinct, he halted mid-step and summoned a sand defence with all his might.
The blue flash passed by him, shattering the legs of a nearby Suna-nin, who screamed in agony.
The air fell silent, and no one dared move. Swallowing sounds filled the silence.
The oppressive chill lingered, and they feared the deadly blue light would strike again, watching helplessly as Yamatsuchi escaped.
After a long while, they breathed a sigh of relief when the blue flash didn't reappear.
"It... it should be gone..."
A Suna-nin stammered, swallowing hard.
"Don't know," another Suna-nin replied, wiping the sweat from his forehead, eyes filled with fear.
Rasa dispersed his sand defence and coldly ordered, "Investigate. The enemy should be gone."
"Yes." Reluctantly, the remaining Suna-nin moved to investigate.
"It's a bow!"
A Suna-nin held up the find—a long metal arrow, its blue metal shaft reflecting a chilling light.
A bow???
Rasa narrowed his eyes. What kind of jutsu gave such power to a bow? They had been vigilant, and no enemy had been within a kilometre.
Could the attack have come from over a kilometre away?
Impossible!
"Rasa, you need to explain this failure to the Kazekage. This mission is a total failure!"
Pakura, standing beside him, spoke coldly. The two had always been at odds, and if not for the Kazekage's orders, she wouldn't have followed his command.
Rasa's face darkened. Yamatsuchi had escaped, meaning the Tsuchikage would know about their actions today. Sunagakure would suffer for this.
"Who could it be?" he muttered, gritting his teeth.
---
A kilometre away, Satoru lowered his bow, a faint smile on his lips.
