In the early morning, after a sleepless night, Hyuga Satoru got out of bed.
"After all, it was my first time killing someone." Satoru sighed.
Since crossing over to this world, last night was the first time he had insomnia. The gruesome scenes of the Iwa-nin's deaths during yesterday's battle seemed to still be vividly present in his mind.
Ultimately, it would take some time to educate oneself in the modern world and accept the brutal reality of the ninja world.
Shaking his head, he cleared the clutter from his mind.
"Now's not the time to dwell on such things."
The Third Ninja War and the Caged Bird Seal loomed like ferocious beasts chasing him, forcing him to improve his strength quickly.
After breakfast, just as Satoru was about to start his training, he heard someone knocking on the door.
Opening it, he saw Hyuga Hiroshi.
"Hiroshi-uncle, what brings you here?"
"The clan leader wants to see you."
"Oh, I'll pack up and head over right away."
On the way, Hiroshi glanced at Satoru's small frame, his eyes filled with a complex expression.
Recently, Satoru's reputation as a genius was spreading within the Hyuga clan. However, Hiroshi knew that being a genius in the branch family was more of a curse than a blessing.
An ordinary branch member might live a relatively peaceful life, but a genius would find it agonizing to endure the helplessness and numbness imposed by the clan's restrictions.
Unaware of Hiroshi's thoughts, Satoru was contemplating the clan leader's intentions.
The door to the main hall opened, revealing the elderly clan leader seated on a cushion and a younger man standing beside him, Hyuga Hiashi.
"Hiroshi, you may leave."
"Yes, sir." After bowing to the elder, Hiroshi quietly exited the hall.
"Clan leader," Satoru bowed slightly.
The elder opened his half-closed eyes, his gaze pressing down on Satoru in the hall's centre.
"I heard you've been getting quite close to an Uchiha, and she even sponsored your training tools?"
"It's just a companion relationship. We're in the same squad, so it's natural to be close," Satoru replied steadily.
"Enough," the elder shook his head. "I don't care if you got close and then chose the same team or if you got close because you were in the same team. I just want you to understand that our Hyuga clan does not need other clans' support for our training."
"This concerns the Hyuga clan's dignity. Do you understand?"
The elder's gaze was like an invisible blade pressing on Satoru.
Satoru remained silent.
The elder's tone softened. "I understand your savings may not support your training costs. Here's what we'll do: from now on, you can receive an additional ten thousand Ryo each month from the clan's fund. Consider it the clan's support for your training."
A classic mix of stick and carrot, Satoru thought disdainfully. First, he instils fear, then offers some sweet benefits to win loyalty. This clan leader certainly knew how to manage people.
In fact, Satoru's finances were not as tight anymore. The bounty from their recent B-rank mission was enough to last him quite a while.
"Thank you, clan leader."
Satoru expressed his gratitude. Regardless of the situation, outward respect was necessary.
"Hmm." The clan leader, Hyuga Suigetsu, nodded. "I know you haven't been diligent in training with our Gentle Fist techniques, but I hope you'll take it seriously. This is the training manual for Rotation. Study it for three days and return it. Remember, you must not share it with anyone."
Satoru accepted the scroll from the elder, feeling surprised.
Rotation was a secret technique usually reserved for the main family. Branch members typically had to figure it out on their own without formal training. Suigetsu's action broke this long-standing rule.
"Thank you, clan leader," Satoru said, pretending to be overjoyed.
"Hmm, you may leave now."
After Satoru left, Hiashi asked, puzzled, "Clan leader, why did you grant him the Rotation technique?"
The elder raised his head slightly, his murky eyes showing a deep gleam. "Hiashi, do you know the Hokage sought me out yesterday?"
"The Hokage did?" Hiashi was shocked.
"Yes," the elder nodded.
"You know our clan's unique status. Even the Hokage needs our consent to mobilize branch members. I thought he wanted a branch Jonin, but he specifically asked for Satoru."
"What would the Hokage want with a Genin? Even with dual bloodlines, his impact should be limited," Hiashi questioned.
The elder shook his head. "I don't know. Perhaps it's related to an ANBU mission."
"The Hokage seems to value him greatly!"
"Yes. As the first ninja in Konoha's history with dual bloodlines, the Hokage might want to cultivate or use him. Branch members first swear loyalty to the main family, so we should go with the flow."
Hiashi nodded slightly.

Back home, Satoru began examining the Rotation training manual. Typically, only the main family members could train in Rotation, while branch members had to rely on their own understanding.
In the original series, Neji Hyuga mastered Rotationn while a Genin, earning his reputation as a genius.
Satoru, who had not focused much on the Gentle Fist techniques, saw this as an opportunity to address his weaknesses.
Shibi had given them a seven-day rest period, and this was only the second day. Satoru calculated that the time was sufficient to develop new abilities using Rotation.
The principles of Rotation weren't complicated. They involved instantly expelling the chakra from all the body's acupuncture points while spinning rapidly to create a spherical chakra barrier.
The challenges lay in the techniques for expelling chakra and controlling the high-speed Rotation.
A fully-formed rotation could repel attacks and was considered absolute defence by the Hyuga clan.
However, such a capability did not meet Satoru's standards. He aimed to combine Rotation with his electromagnetic abilities.
After several days of research, he developed three new uses for Rotation.
Using Rotation while constructing an electromagnetic repulsion field significantly increased the defensive capabilities. Metallic objects would be repelled before making contact, similar to an omnidirectional Shinra Tensei (Almighty Push).
Conversely, he could become a human meat grinder by constructing an electromagnetic attraction field.
He could also combine Rotation with metallic ninja tools, such as a ninja sword. By controlling the sword while using Rotation, he could create a meat grinder version 2.0. Enemies would try to escape but would be pulled back by the attraction field, only to be shredded by the spinning blades.
Satoru named these three special Rotations: Rotation—yin, Rotation—yang, and Rotation—sword Dance.
The construction of electromagnetic repulsion and attraction fields was still limited to non-metal objects. However, the effect would be significantly enhanced if the enemy carried any metal.
At level 2 of electromagnetic mastery, the limits of his abilities were quite apparent. However, Satoru's experience points had already reached [3289/6000], and he was not far from level 3.
