The room is packed. Rows of powerful men and women, people who rule industries, governments, and empires, all dressed to the nines and waiting for the ceremony to begin. It should feel intimidating, all those sharp eyes watching my every move, but all I feel is anticipation.

And maybe a touch of nerves.

Alexei leans in, his voice low enough that only I can hear. "You look like you're going to vomit, Damien. Very unbecoming for a Bratva boss."

I shoot him a glare. "Shut the fuck up, Alexei."

He smirks, adjusting his cufflinks like the cocky bastard he is. "Just saying. If you faint, I'll be sure to catch it on video. For posterity, of course."

I ignore him, turning my attention back to the room. It's a sea of wealth and power, faces I know well and a few I don't trust at all. But none of that matters. Not today.

Today, the only thing that matters is Riley.
