From the flames, he rose. A young man that looked extremely close to me, or rather, extremely close to the Lord of Chaos, stood before me with a menacing look pasted on his face.
His hair was fiery with a golden halo floating above his head. The clothes he wore were burned from the excessive heat he radiated, revealing the muscular body beneath them.
"I am Aten," his voice reverberated in the region, and it contained some power that it even sent some shockwaves. "I am the most powerful, the invincible, the strongest. I have yet to beaten! Even the great serpent demon Apophis [1] was unable to make me yield, let alone you, a puny god!"
"Those are some big words, Aten," I replied with a smirk, "are you sure you have the ability to back them up? Oh, and just a reminder... I defeated all of your previous forms; and even though it wasn't easy, it wasn't that hard either!"
Unexpectedly, Aten started laughing, and that lasted for a minute before he finally said, "If ignorance is bliss, then you, Set, are the most ecstatic person alive! Do you really believe that this form is similar to the previous ones?
"I have five forms, each signifying a different ability of mine. Ra, the first, specialized in melee attacks; Atum, the setting sun, was able to steal abilities from his opponents; Amun, the omnipotent, had an invulnerability against all manners of physical damage; Khepri was able to wield the primordial fire and control it as if he was the Lord of Fire!
"And last but not least, me!"
I listened to him giving me the recap of his powers. I was honestly extremely bored, but that also gave me a bit of time to regenerate some energy. However, when my interest was finally piqued, he stopped.
"Out with it, what are your powers?" I grumbled in annoyance.
"Why should I? It is counterproductive to tell your specialties to your enemy," he replied calmly.
Stunned at his response, I replied with a strange expression on my face, "All your previous forms told me their powers. What happened? Did you have a sudden change of heart?"
"Again, do not rope me in with those fools! I am different than them! But have no fear, you will get the chance to experience it soon enough!" he responded.
Seeing that there was no point in further talk, I initiated the attack on Aten. My Chaos Flame coated the Pangu sword as it slashed at him.
Since he was the final form, my guess is that he would have the abilities of all the previous forms combined. But the bad feeling that has been bothering me from the moment I burned Khepri told me that he had something special; something extremely powerful...
Hence, I combined my two weapons just in case he had the invulnerability of Amun. Also, I planned to evade his attacks and not let him touch me because of Atum's ability.
All this sounded good in my head, but in reality, my sword was blocked by a barrier that suddenly surrounded Aten's body. In fact, burning chains grabbed my limbs and pulled me backwards.
Held by the chains, I tried to get free, but they tightened on my limbs, making me unable of moving. I then looked at Aten who had an arrogant grin dancing on his lips, "What's the matter, Set? Have you figured it out?"
I didn't respond as I carefully thought about it. After some time, I answered his question, "Your power is creation. You can make any item you wish with just a thought!"
Aten's smile broadened, "Correct. Horus had a similar ability with the help of his Divine Eye, but his had extremely limited use.
"The body you are currently occupying has a very tough skin, watch me create a blade sharp enough that can cut it!"
He wasn't messing around with that one. A khopesh, which is a sickle-shaped sword, appeared in his hand. The blade didn't need to touch me for me to know that it can cut through.
In all honesty, my anger reached its limit. I have been fighting five versions of this man for quite some time now, even to the point of spending a considerable amount of energy!
"Why you!" I shouted in anger as Aten paced towards me, "HOW DARE YOU TOY WITH ME!"
Just before his khopesh could slash me, I felt something unlock inside me...
Time seemed to slow down, and the world around us turned bloody red in color. A giant muscular projection that had similar features as me appeared behind me. It felt like the world was under my command!
"Break!" I shouted, but my voice didn't come from my mouth; it came from the world itself. Instantly, the chains around me broke and crumbled to the ground, granting me my freedom.
I looked at the technique I have casted in confusion. It was that boy's Blood World! But in all logical sense, I shouldn't be able to cast it as it is not my ability. Unless...
"So that's how it is!" I started laughing in joy at the realization about what's going on. I was about to be killed! "Now, you will pay for humiliating me! KNEEL!"
I could already see Aten kneeling on the ground considering I can will anything and it will happen as long as I am in the Blood World. However, he was resisting it, and I only managed to get him to barely lower himself!
"You still resist me? I said KNEEL!" I screamed as I commanded again. This time, he went further down, but his knees refused to hit the ground.
"Very well, maybe this will break you!" I held out my hand as if summoning something. But it was no item that my hand soon grasped, but a person.
Bast!
