Capítulo 44: A New Treasure (2)

Malcom looked at him curiously. He could not understand why a person like Armand would need any favor from a Marked like him. After all, Armand's company was basically the one giving his allowance.

Since he could not understand, Malcom just waited silently while looking at the man with curiosity.

Armand smiled before he explained, "It is a connection necklace. If you apply a little magic, you will be able to see the location of its twin necklace and talk to the wearer of it."

Just like how he looked at the bracelet, Malcom also looked at the necklace with interest.

Malcom then thought how useful a device like that could be if Nora had one, and a hint of sadness and frustration was reflected on his face.

He glanced at Armand before nodding in understanding.

"Who has the other one?"

Malcom asked as he accepted the necklace. It was light and cold to touch.

"Of course, the other is with Skyler," Armand replied while staring at Malcom with a helpless smile.

He then continued, "I told her that this way she could take care of you. Vice versa, I tell you the same. With that necklace, you could help her if she gets into trouble."

Malcom looked at the necklace with a smile and put it on.

"You are a smart man. I can't refuse to take care of Skyler, you know I won't refuse, but with this, you and the virtues will also be able to know about me," Malcom said honestly.

Armand nodded, with a grin, "We all need friends, Malcom," And while he said that, he placed his hand on the boy's shoulder and continued, "Let us be your friends too."

Malcom smiled at the idea, and nodding, Armand said goodbye to him. Taking the necklace from his neck, he thought that there was nothing wrong with having a way to contact Skyler if she had problems.

He felt that things were fine and began to walk. When he left the hospital, he decided to walk a little through the night sky, and in a few seconds, he realized that he could no longer feel the men who were protecting him.

'Wow! They are doing better,' Malcom thought to himself. As he walked, he saw his own image on huge video screens on the buildings promoting his next fight.

Malcom smiled to himself as he thought that despite everything, he still had some luck.

Just as the thought crossed his mind, he suddenly felt an intense thirst, and his throat went dry to the point of pain. Malcom knew what he badly craved, and that was blood.

His body instantly bristled when he felt that deep need for violence, and over him, he felt an enormous amount of energy gathered.

Danger was coming in toward his direction. Fast.

In a split second, he thought that he would surely die if he looked up to see what was coming.

Activating his boots, he moved with speed, and jumping forward, he dodged a powerful impact that crashed on the floor where moments ago he stopped.

His reaction was so fast, and the power that that attack generated was so intense that it made him lose his balance and fall to the ground.

Standing up at full speed, he planted his eyes in the place where the energy had landed and saw how a big and strong man got up.

People around the scene reacted, stunned at what was happening, and, much panicked, they began to run.

But not Malcom, he was staring at the man. His whole body was wrapped in black clothes. Not even a small portion of his skin was showing.

His face had a turban so tightly wrapped that his eyes could barely be seen.

The intensity that that man emanated was gigantic. The power that he had displayed seconds ago was so wide that if he had touched Malcom, he would have pulverized him immediately.

"I don't think you're coming to kidnap me!" He said casually but was clearly challenging his attacker. Malcom was trying to be cool and smug about this attack, even if fear was rising up against his spine quickly.

The man prepared to attack when Malcolm flung two cards at the same time in his direction. The cards were instantly activated, and one enveloped the man in chains stopping his movement.

In contrast, the other activated a giant iron maiden around him. Just by activating his magic power, the man shattered these spells and, in a fraction of a second, advanced the distance that separated him from the marked one.

Malcom was surprised that his spells were destroyed in an instant, his great reflex was what helped him evade the next attack, and when the man tried to take his neck, Malcom crouched, dodging the grip.

The man tried to hit him by lowering a punch with such power that it would have gone through the boy's back if it weren't for Malcolm's speed.

Malcom backed off as best he could, but as he tried to regain his balance, he saw how the man was no longer in front of him.

On one side of Malcom, the man tried to deliver another blow so powerful that it would undoubtedly open the Marked's head. Still escaping as he could, he threw his body into an alley between two buildings that were nearby.

In the alley, Malcom saw a fence behind him. He thought of jumping it. Still, the time it took for that man to overcome the distance was very little.

The man raised his fist to attack the Marked with a punch full of power, and this time Malcom could not dodge it.

Activating his new treasure, he created a magic shield and, using his shield-shaped dagger, put all his strength to stop the impact.

The masked man threw his powerful blow, and shattering the magic shield, he hit the magic treasure transformed into a shield.

The impact was such that it transformed the treasure back into a dagger, and the impact broke Malcom's right arm while he made him fly until he crashed to the fence abruptly.

Malcom again felt like his head was overwhelmed. The pain in his arm was powerful, and it hung to one side of his completely shattered body.

The man in front of him was about to launch a new attack when Malcom awakened, took his hat, and prepared to activate it.
