Solis sulked for five whole minutes once he realised that Noir wasn't crying because he was upset or because something bad had happened and that it was simply the reaction from the fumes of the onion he had been chopping.
Noir was quite amused by Solis's sulk and tried to cajole him with various treats and promises of his favourite food until Solis gave in – after all, Solis was no match for Noir's adorable face trying to coax him with those earnest chocolate brown eyes.
Five minutes was the maximum that Solis could hold on for, actually – but he wouldn't tell Noir that, of course.
Then Solis decided to help Noir chop onions.
Noir was very worried about whether Solis would be able to use a kitchen knife at all. He fussed like a parent sending his beloved child to a far off school for the first time – or a parent letting his child near a potentially dangerous thing – like a fire or a sharp weapon – for the first time.
