Capítulo 11: 11: Nemesis
Three years later, Riswan is still the village head and a good leader. The entire family is preparing for the return of Mable who was in college. Salma cooks some of Mable's favorite food and just can't wait to see her daughter, " Riswan I can't wait to see my child after two long years"
Just then, the door bell rings,Mirabel answers and shouts with joy when she sees Mable. The family welcomes her and they all have lunch. In the evening, Riswan and Mable take a walk in the garden where Mable asks Riswan about his leadership, " so father how is everything going I mean the village and your leadership any challenges and lesson you might want to tell me"
Riswan turns to Mable with arms folded on his back,"I must say child it is not easy looking after the family as well as the entire village "
Mable asks her father about his rival, "what about your rival anything from him?"
Riswan tells her nothing has been heard from his old time rival. Tony calls his family to the living room and tells them he proposed to the girl he has been dating for a year and she will be coming with her parents in the morning. Everyone is happy and they go to sleep to get ready for the next morning.
The next day everyone is mark preparations for welcoming Tony's fiancée while Mable keeps trying to call Kel. Mira walks in,greets everyone and walks to Mable. She sees her friend is trying to call someone, "who are you trying to call Mable"
Mable looks at her friend in a frustrated face, "am trying to call Kel but he isn't answering its so frustrating"
Mira looks at Mable and starts to mock her," ooh, I see someone's missing her boyfriend.... oh did you tell your family you and Kel are dating "
Mable gets chills," sh... keep quiet crazy no one should hear about this, until I decide OK"
Mira nodes her head in agreement. Kel walks into the house and the family is happy to see him. As everyone else is welcoming the guests, Kel takes Mable aside to talk,"listen, I think we should tell our families that we love each other and that we intend to get married soon"
Mable puts her hand on Kel's cheek,"OK fine I promise after the guests leave I'll tell my family about us so don't worry, now let's get back to everyone "
In the living room, the brides family introduce themselves, the bride tells the family her name is Roshni and everyone is left speechless because of her beauty. The guests then leave and Mable breaks the news to the family on how she and Kel plan to get married. Riswan tells Kel to inform his parents because they will be going to meet them and make a date for the wedding and that they would also like to get the couples married on the same day. Kel goes back home in a good and happy mood,he tells his family everything, " mom, dad I want to talk to you, I have found a girl to marry and she will be coming with her family to see us tomorrow"
Kel's mother, Anjali is filled with happiness, "I can't believe my only child will be marrying soon am so happy right now and I can't wait to see my soon to be daughter in law"
Kel's father, Mark, hugs his son and congratulates him,"congrats son,am proud of you... and Anjali, make sure you prepare some nice snacks for the guests tomorrow good night."
The following day, Mable and her family are on their way to Kel's house,they arrive at the house and are welcomed by Anjali and Kel then offered their seats and some tea and snacks. Anjali asks her Kel to call Mark. Kel informs his father about the guests and they go down stairs together, but upon reaching the living room, Mark's eyes hit with a familiar face and he is shocked and angered at the same time, "you are still alive"
Riswan gets up from his seat in shock,"you are Kel's father? "
Everyone else gets out of their seats in amazement. Kel asks his father if he knows Riswan and how," dad,do you know Mr Riswan and how am so confused"
Mable also asks her father in confusion, "father what is going on do you know him,say something father come on"
Mark answers the question going through everyone's mind,"I know him very well, he is my old time enemy, I hate him so much, I have been looking for him for a long time so I can kill him, I thought he died but no,he is still alive"
Anjali asks Mark what conspired between the two as she is concerned," what happened, why do you hate him so much"
Mark looks at his wife and responds to the question," he killed my only brother, the only family I had!"
Everyone's eyes widen with shock beyond expression. Mable tries to defend her father, "no sir you are mistaken my father is not a killer, yes he is savage,rude and all that but murder no...my father can't do that"
Mark answers back in anger, " he is a killer so don't defend him! "
Riswan finally steps in to defend himself, "listen I have had enough of your nonsense I didn't kill your brother I was pointing a gun at the thug when he ran behind your brother and as for the shooting, the man standing behind me shot him I promise"
Mark makes his decision, "I have made my decision, my son will not be getting married to a murderers daughter"
Riswan looses his cool and gives Mark a fitting response, "I can tolerate one thing but not you insulting my daughter!"
Mark takes a gun from one of his men and points it at Riswan, everyone gets scared except for the man held at gunpoint. Anjali starts to plead with her husband, "stop it Mark don't do this know let go of the gun drop it now Mark!"
Mark looks at his wife and he sends Riswan off with a warning, "Riswan...I'm letting you go today because I don't want your family to see your murder like I did with my brother but...am letting you off with a warning, this battle is not over in fact it is far from over now go"
Before Riswan leaves he also warns Mark, " you want war.. then war you shall get but don't say I didn't warn you " then he leaves.
As Riswan and his family are leaving, Mark calls to Riswan and gives him some shocking news,"Riswan listen! the wedding has been called off"
Riswan takes Mable's hand and they leave.
Looks like the war has just began.
