"Oh, Lucy Thompson, your dress is ruined!" came a sharp voice from the crowd.

The speaker held a fan, seemingly ignoring Molly and focusing solely on the girl in the purple dress.

Lucy Thompson noticed the red wine stain on Molly's dress too and, with a smirk, casually set her wine glass aside. "She can't afford to compensate for my dress, then I guess I'll just have to repay her in kind."

Only then did the fan-holding girl look Molly in the eye. Upon seeing her dress, she narrowed her eyes. "Her dress…"

"What's wrong with her dress? Could it possibly be more expensive than mine?" Lucy scoffed. As a cousin of the Thompson family, she typically received respect from others; whatever price she claimed for her dress, people generally believed her due to her connections. But facing a tough nut like Molly was a first for her.
