"I am your daughter's strongest weapon."
The Duke of Oberon was left speechless, purplish-colored lines slowly running down his neck, arms, and face. Every time the lines appeared, the pain in Julius' body became more painful.
The effects of the poison he drank reacted more quickly because Julius used his magic on a large scale.
He raised his head, looking at Damian with a dazed look. "Are you a wizard hired by my daughter from another kingdom?! Tell me how much she paid you! I can pay you more if you don't kill me!"
Julius has lived in the Kingdom of Vithia for over fifty years, so he knew all the great wizards from the Black Tower. All of them were under the King's regime and the Grand Wizard, so Julius often saw them at noble banquets.
However, he had never seen a wizard who looked like Damian or had magic powers like him.
Most of the wizards in Vithia were strict adherents to the rules and norms of society, so their demeanor always seemed elegant and disciplined.
As for the man before him, his behavior and way of fighting were anything but elegant. He had no regard for ethics and was murdering people like wild animals.
"You won't be able to pay me more than your daughter." Damian bent one knee to the floor to align his head with Julius'. "Besides, I'm not from another kingdom."
Julius stammered as he said, "T-then where are you co-coming from?"
Damian smiled broadly, two pointed fangs protruding from the corners of his lips and a murderous aura exploding from his body that made Julius unable to breathe.
Every word he said echoed throughout the room, "I am straight from hell."
The echoing sound gradually turned into laughter that penetrated Julius' eardrums. The sound was so loud and sharp that it sent terror and fear into his heart.
Julius was breathing heavily, the blood flow inside his body was pumping rapidly, making the poison residue spread in no time.
Roxana finally approached Julius. She lowered her gaze to witness her father's pitiful condition.
"Father, thanks to you for setting this room on fire. I have a strong alibi."
Julis shouted angrily, "You will surely be put to death if the King finds out what you did to me!"
Roxana bent her knees to look at Julius' face right before her. Her lips curled down, and her eyes narrowed so that her expression looked like she was mocking her father. "How could he know what I did to you if I destroyed all the evidence?"
"Father, you are the one who taught me about this." Roxana lowered the intonation of her voice. "We should not keep nor care about something useless."
Back then, Julius and Camilla considered her a useless daughter. However, in this lifetime, Roxana chose to be the one who would throw them away like trash.
Those parents had absolutely no use for Roxana, so instead of granting forgiveness, it was better for her to eliminate them.
"Damian." Roxana raised her head, her blue eyes filled with such conviction that it made Damian think momentarily that the woman before him was not a human but a demon like him. "Burn this mansion to the ground and kill everyone inside."
The order given by Roxana made Julius and Camilla tremble violently, their eyes widened, and their hearts beat quickly. Camila tried to crawl under Roxana's feet, tears streaming down her face as she couldn't stop crying in pain.
"Roxana, my daughter, Mother apologizes to you for everything I did. If you give me a chance to live, I will try to be a good mother to you." Camilla knelt at Roxana's feet and hugged her daughter's legs firmly.
Instead of feeling compassion, Roxana lifted her leg, sending her mother tumbling backward. She patted her skirt where Camilla had touched her as if she were brushing off dirty dust.
"It's too late, Mother." Roxana then put the bottle of medicine on the floor. "Speaking of the poison in your body, I lied about it. There was no poison in that wine."
Camilla's pupils trembled as she looked at the medicine bottle before her. "Then why can't I move my body?"
"I put paralyzing medicine in the wine. In fact, you are only temporarily paralyzed, and this medicine can heal your body in a second." Roxana pushed the medicine bottle closer to Camilla. "Go on, Mother. You can drink it now."
Camilla tried to reach for the medicine, but her muscles became increasingly stiff to the point where she could no longer move. The distance between her fingers and the medicine bottle was near, but Camilla was unable to touch it.
Roxana tilted her head. "Ah, it seems you no longer want to take this medicine."
Camilla's pupils twitched wildly, she wanted to scream at Roxana, but her mouth was too stiff to move.
Roxana placed her index finger on the medicine bottle. She tapped her finger twice, and a small spark of fire instantly appeared on her fingertip.
The spark burned the bottle slowly, causing Camilla's eyes to darken as the hope in front of her eyes was destroyed.
Roxana's fire was just a small flame that Camilla and Julius had always considered meaningless, but it eventually burned away their last hope.
Roxana closed her eyes for a moment before she gave Damian the order, "You can burn this place now. Let the fire turn their corpses into ashes."
That way, the royal soldier and the King couldn't thoroughly investigate the reason for their deaths.
Damian smiled broadly. He bowed his back before Roxana and said, "As you wish, My Lady."
Damian snapped his fingers twice, and shortly after, the eyes of the phoenix ornament on the wine bottle began to open, revealing its fiery red eyes.
The phoenix's wings slowly moved, attempting to detach itself from the bottle. The gold that coated its body and feathers faded away bit by bit, revealing a bright red color similar to a smoldering flame.
When the phoenix was able to free itself from the wine bottle, it flapped its wings so that it could fly to the ceiling of the room. The phoenix then opened its beak, and flames instantly shot out of its mouth.
Within seconds, a sea of flames engulfed the dining room, burning the corpse of soldiers on the floor to the bone.
Julius and Camilla rounded their eyes, both of them unable to move or scream, so the only thing they could do was stare at Roxana fiercely as if they were casting a vicious curse on their daughter.
"You should not hold grudges against me." Roxana emphasized, "Because I'm just paying for all the bad deeds I received from you."
In other words, their miserable death was just karma for making Roxana suffer during her five previous lives.
"My Lady, would you like to bid them farewell?" asked Damian.
"No." Roxana smiled slightly while lowering her head. Roxana's delicate lashes adorned her blue eyes, which darkened bit by bit. The blue ocean, which usually looked empty or filled with anger, was now so calm and had no waves.
Roxana felt nothing.
There was no sadness, anger, or regret as she stared at her parents, who were on the verge of death.
All her feelings had died along with her five lives.
"I've already said enough. It's time for them to be burned together with this manor."
After hearing Roxana's words, Damian swung his arm quickly and ordered the phoenix, "Burn them all."
