Capítulo 6: Escape

When I woke up I was in a soft bed piled under a bunch of blankets. When I went to look around my head screamed in protest. The room seemed to be a dungeon cell. The walls were made of concrete. The door in the front of the room was made of a strange metal that I had never seen before. In a corner lay Fino still unconscious. I sat up very slowly and walked over to him. He had a cut on his thigh and several bruises all over his body. His arm was twisted back at an odd angle. When I knelt down beside him the first thing I could think to do was fix his arm. I grabbed his arm above the elbow and around the wrist and twisted. There was a loud pop and Fino protested in his sleep, but then I moved onto the cut. It was about four inches wide and deep. I ripped part of his pants leg off and tied it above the cut. He wasn't healing because he didn't have enough human blood in his system. The bleeding started to slow. The second I had finished with Fino the room started to fill with water. I started to panic, as usual.

"Wake up Fino,"I said in voice that was somehow totally calm. He just murmured.

I left his side and started to look for a way out. The only thing I could see that could represent a form of escape was the door but that was too obvious. I pushed on it to see if it would give way but when it didn't I wasn't surprised. I went to the bed and moved it to the other corner and felt the floor underneath were the bed was. All I found was a nail file. I picked it up and put it in my pocket. I started to feel around the edge of the room when I saw the water had almost covered Fino's head. I got the bed and put it up were there would be a place I could put Fino that was above the water. When I did that I lifted Fino and put him up on the bed. I resumed my search. I felt along the wall and the floor by the time the room was full of water. I sucked in a breath before the water covered my face. I realized that there was only one place I hadn't looked yet. I swam up to the ceiling and started to fill it with my hands since there was no longer any lights to see by and it hurt to open my eyes. I almost yelled in excitement when I fent the edge of a board on the ceiling. I pulled on the edge but it wouldn't budge. I pulled the file out of my pocket and wedged it under the board on the ceiling. I had to get out soon or I'd end op breathing water. All of a sudden the board pulled free. I grabbed Fino and pushed him through the hole. I went up after him to find a crowd of people. They were all clapping. Layla walked up to me clearly upset.

"That will do but I would have loved to see Fino die,and the look on your face when you realized you couldn't save him. These next few months will consist of a lot of test of how much you will endanger to save the other. Next time your life will be in Fino's hands. Do you think you can trust him to save your life." She said hoping to make me doubt him. The thing is she only made me doubt myself. What if I couldn't save him; what if he died and it was all my fault. He had always been there for me lets hope I can be there for him.
