Kaidan, barely 14 years old, stood frozen in his escape pod, staring in disbelief at the scene through the small viewport. The home of the Saiyans, his home was gone, reduced to cosmic dust.

“Why?” he whispered, his fists trembling. His mind raced, replaying the events leading up to this moment. Frieza, the tyrant who controlled their race, had betrayed them. Every Saiyan had believed themselves invincible, yet in a single act, they were all but erased.

Kaidan’s escape pod hurtled through space, his body battered from the turbulent launch. The last thing he remembered before passing out was a strange, soothing voice.
