After Raja's words, the five natives of Giant Island couldn't help but look at that lion strangely, each with the same suspicion in their minds.
"It can't be..." Levi commented softly, thinking of the possibility behind the brutal attack on their tribe months ago.
"Could it be that..." Emery looked at Seth, wondering if the necklace around his neck had anything to do with the end of the tribe.
"No, I doubt it," Dax commented. "That necklace has been in the tribe for generations. What's more, no one but our fellow tribesmen knew about it. How could a force from Ihaes have discovered such a thing and come to us?"
Atlas nodded affirmatively. "It couldn't have been. Someone would have to leak the information first."
They didn't know that the object had any value. They knew that it was a magnificent artifact and had a lot of history within the tribe. Every First Elder in the tribe wore this necklace at one time or another.
About 20 years ago, First Elder Elijah gave Seth his necklace shortly after the young man was born.
The natives of Giant Island were born with enough traces of their abilities for a stronger person to recognize the kind of power they would develop. Elijah knew of Seth's great potential from the beginning, so he didn't hesitate to choose his successor when this young man was just a newborn.
However, aside from what the necklace meant to the people of the Misty Woods Tribe, the tribe members had no idea what the necklace could do.
Even Seth, who was looking at the necklace around his neck with interest, didn't know what it could do except that it was an item of great symbolism.
Emery remembered something and said. "584 years ago, a member of the tribe was sent to die in the Playrose Sea."
The four groupmates looked at Emery with more or less the same thing in mind.
"You're not saying this person did it, are you?" Levi asked her.
"It's not impossible. We've already seen that it's quite possible to survive the Playrose Sea." Atlas said with a worried look on his face. "Besides, these lands are very accessible to the people of our tribe. I'd say that even if this criminal had escaped death to come here and spent some time recovering and adapting to mainland society, he could have achieved a good position on the continent centuries ago.
Even if he wasn't interested in betraying us at first, he might have abandoned our ways over the years and learned new things, new ways."
Dax agreed with Atlas' thoughts. "After seeing the reaction of Moses and Jothan, I don't doubt anything. Even now, to avenge our tribe, we are easily provoked by the alternatives available in these lands... So imagine such a person who was cast out of the tribe to die and with no reason to hate the people of Ihaes."
"It makes sense," Seth muttered, sensing that this might be the story behind the end of the Misty Woods Tribe. "If that's what we think, we have a traitor to punish," he said as a bit of his murderous intent burst out of his control, frightening all the beings in the area.
Raja and Kion sensed this and lowered their heads, noticing even more how strong Seth was. Meanwhile, they remained silent so as not to disturb the critical conversation of these seniors.
Dax looked at Seth and said. "Let's keep that in mind. But you weren't wrong. Taking it easy really is the best option."
Even Emery agreed. "If we had gone straight to the capital with the rest of the group, we would have missed this chance to learn."
Atlas clapped a hand on one of Raja's shoulders and said. "Old lion, thank you for the information. We didn't expect to get much out of you, but this conversation was quite enlightening."
"I was just telling you some local history," Raja said, demonstrating that he hadn't deliberately said anything to provoke any reaction from them.
He was just advising because he didn't know what kind of problems these five Sky People might have. But after feeling a fraction of Seth's power, he had no idea whether his words were right or unnecessary.
With so much power, was it dangerous for Seth to casually show off his wealth?
"Is there any way I can disguise this necklace, old Raja?" Seth asked, pointing to the item around his neck.
"There must be. But I can't tell you where or how to get it. But this necklace looks very valuable. Then you'll need something of equal or greater value to hide it." The old lion replied before offering his advice.
"But seniors, don't jump to conclusions. I only said that this item might cause chaos around you because I sense that it's not simple. But not everyone will sense it and realize its greatness, and even if someone does, I'm sure few people can stand up to you." The old lion pointed to Seth.
Beasts were more sensitive to valuable resources than humans. In particular, Golden Mane Lions had a good nose for good resources, which put them ahead of many races when it came to recognizing valuable items.
"But if you still want to hide it, try not to let it show so easily. Keep it under your clothes. Most of the special beings in our world have to make an effort to perceive certain things. If it's not visible, you may be able to go unnoticed even if you pass near someone who can see its value," Raja added. "Besides, not everyone would notice it. I've lived long enough to see and hear many things, seniors."
"That's true," Kion commented. "Elder Raja is the oldest of the tribe and has already reached his 500th year."
Raja laughed and said to Seth. "If you find a place that makes camouflage items, try to buy some. It will help you keep your poses and avoid unnecessary fights."
"I thank the elder." Seth made a gesture of gratitude typical of his tribe, knowing what he had to do.
Maybe his necklace wasn't responsible for what happened to the tribe. Still, he and the others would consider that possibility in the future.
Thus, even after they went back to talk to the lions of Kion's tribe, each of them couldn't help but think about the possibility that there might be a traitor to the tribe on the continent and that they might eventually become targets for the enemies who attacked the Giant Island.
But now, they were more determined than ever to go ahead with their plans, just as Seth had planned since their trip to Lastwood.
