Capítulo 35: Resignation Letter (2)
Mr Lin refused to give up. He just assumed that she was trying to wave him off otherwise why would she want to keep the identity of her husband a secret and she wasn't wearing her engagement and wedding ring. Hua Ruolan's 24 carat emerald engagement ring or 7 carat diamond wedding ring was enough to support a person's entire generation. They were too precious to her, she couldn't afford to loose it.
"OK that's fine" Mr Lin said as he walked towards the door.
"Oh...before I forget.. there's an internship dinner that will be held later today at the banquet hall... groom yourselves nicely because our CEO will be gracing us with his presence" Mr Lin said as left.
"What a pervert"
"How did he even get a job here?"
The interns complained.
"Hey..are you OK?" a girl asked. Hua Ruolan nodded.
"My name is Wen Lan" the girl said.
"Hua Ruolan" Hua Ruolan said.
"If that disgusting old man bothers you again tell me I'll teach him a lesson" Wen Lan said.
"Not only you...I'll beat him so hard he won't forget it"
"Yes...he deserves it..harassing a girl on her first day...he should be locked up". The other interns said supporting Hua Ruolan.
Later in the evening, everyone headed to the banquet hall. There were a lot of people present there especially Hua Er Bao who sat down beside Lu Qian. Hua Ruolan was seated at the fourth table located at the far right of the hall. She sat beside Wen Lan and the other interns while Mr Lin sat close to Hua Ruolan. Since Hua Ruo Lan didn't tell Lu Qian she was interning here, she was a bit surprised when he quietly told one of the waiters to serve one of her favorite French dish. Coq au vin. She was a bit surprised when she saw the waiter placing the dish in front of her. Apart from her parents and Li Yan only she knew that this dish was one of her favorites. Her eyes roamed the hall until it fell on Lu Qian. He had been observing her since she entered the hall. He quickly diverted his gaze when he saw that Hua Ruolan was looking at him. She smiled and picked up the cutlery.
"Let me help you" Mr Lin said as he held her hands.
"Don't worry sir I can..." Hua Ruolan was interrupted by Mr Lin.
"Don't be shy" Mr Lin said still holding her hands. Meanwhile Lu Qian had already noticed Hua Ruolan's discomfort as Mr Lin held her hands. He clenched his fist tightly as a sharp glint flashed past his eyes as his murderous aura made everyone at his table freeze including Hua Er Bao. He signalled for his assistant who quickly rushed over.
"Tell Mr Lin to hand his resignation letter as soon as we're done here" Lu Qian said as he whispered into his assistant's ear.
"Yes sir" the assistant answered.
