Capítulo 213: Nyissa's Mother

Seeing the change in her expression, Viktor asked in a concerned expression, "Did I ask something wrong?"

Nyissa's expression reverted back to normal as she shook her head slowly, "No...it's just that…", Nyissa hesitated since she never talked about her mother to anybody else, not even her father.

But then she thought about how Viktor didn't hesitate to talk to her about his hard times in the past and said, "She is kind of dead to me…"

Viktor knitted his brows, seeing that there was something complicated going on, "What do you mean?"

Nyissa's eyes looked elsewhere as she answered in a slightly bitter tone, "She left me and my father because we couldn't keep up to her standards. I was only ten years old when she left, and even though this happened a long time ago, it feels just like yesterday and…" Nyissa unconsciously clenched her fists, and Viktor caressed her head to comfort her since he could see how this incident caused a lot of pain for Nyissa.
