Later that day, Jody went to the hospital and met with the others. Now that everything was under control, she can finally breathe and take some time off before she would be called to work again. She went to the ward where Dylan’s mom was and on seeing her, the woman mustered a smile.
“How are you feeling Mrs. Emily?” Jody asked her as she walked closer to where she was.
“Not too bad and not too good either,” she responded and chuckled lightly in the end before coughing.
“Thank you for everything,” she thanked Jody.
“It’s really nothing. I only did what I had to do.”
Mrs. Emily nodded. “I haven’t really been able to thank all those who stood by me and the person who saved my life.”
“You don’t have to worry about all of that,” Jody said with a smile and Mrs. Emily returned it.
The door soon opened and Jody moved her eyes to see the male doctor.
“Oh, I didn’t know you would be here,” he said on seeing Jody.
