Capítulo 35: Chapter 35: The Mysterious Girl

I heard murmurs again, and I followed them. As I walked further away from my pack, I was annoyed because no warriors patrolled this area. I was about to mindlink Sphere, but my guts told me not to do it. I continue to walk to where that whimpering and murmur sound. My foot brought me back to the old packhouse of the Blue Crescent Pack.

"Hello? Is anybody in there?" I asked whoever was inside.

I continuously hear the whimper and occasional sobs.

"Hey! Anyone in there?" I asked again.

I heard muffled sounds coming from the basement of the house. All I know is that this packhouse has been abandoned for years. Why can I listen to sounds that probably shouldn't be there? Do rogues decide to live here?

As soon as I reached the basement door a few meters away from the kitchen, I saw a locked door.

The sound was coming inside, so I kicked the door twice as it flung open, detaching the padlock to the wall of the door frame.

The muffled voice became more audible as soon as I heard a loud bang. I went inside and discovered the basement had a long hallway. The louder the muffled sounds became as I walked further away from the door.

I saw in the distance a light penetrating a wall. The muffled sounds were coming inside the wall, and once again, I kicked the wall off; to my surprise, I saw a girl tied to a silver wire while sewed in her mouth using a silver thread. She's a werewolf, I can sense it, but the wolf within her is weak, maybe due to the silver that has been all over her. She barely opened her eyes, and she was malnourished.

I untied her and decided to cut those threads on her lips when I found a pair of scissors.

"Bare with it, girl, and it will be over," I told her before pulling the silver out of her flesh.

She tried to keep her mouth shut so the sound of agonizing pain would never come out. I saw her wounds healing slowly, carrying her out of that room full of silver.

"I'm taking you to my packhouse. My nurse can cure you there–"

"No! Please, no!" she cried in horror, refusing me to bring her there.

"You can be cured there, please-"

He fell into my arms and was too scared to walk away.

"Your pack is full of enemies," she replied to me. "You're not aware, but I know what I saw," she said, full of fear.

"What are you talking about? You're probably hallucinating," I replied to her.

"No! I wasn't. I saw what I saw, and I knew they were from your pack," she said, crying.

"Then who are you?"

"I'm Cole's mate, the alpha of this pack," she said, crying.

I could not bear what she said. Cole was the one that Sphere killed in a fight between them.

"My alpha didn't kill Hale," she replied before hugging herself. "He was the one who helped Hale when she suddenly showed up in our pack territory. She told us that it was a mistake when she met her mate in your pack. She-"

We heard some sounds of vehicles outside.

"They're here," she told me, fear plastered in her eyes. "We need to go but not to your pack," she said. "It's not safe there, Raven," she insisted. I know someplace if you could lend me a car."

"Follow me," I urged her. "You better tell me everything you know after we get out of here."

"Yes, and I intend to tell you."

We dodge the newly arrived car that I never saw coming here.

"Keep following me," I said to her.

"Are you sure you're not leading me to your pack?" she asked.

"No. Just follow me to the safe place," I added.

"Can you shift?" I asked her. "It would be better to move faster," I told her.

"I can't. My wolf isn't responding to my call, and I don't know how long I will go running," she answered me.

It left me no choice but to shift and make her ride on my back.

"Wow!! You have a stunning wolf, Raven," she said.

I lowered my body and waited for her to sit on my back and secure herself before darting towards the dense trees.

I ran for a couple of hours before stopping at a clearing.

"I have a bunker here. No one knows about this," I told her after she hopped down and shifted back to my human form.

I pulled the short plant between two giant trees, and suddenly we heard the familiar sounds of unlocking doors. I stopped at least seven steps from the small plant and pulled the handle that was covered with thick grass.

"Get in," I said to her. "I will only open the door, and rest assured you will be safe here. There is a food stock inside, and you can cook there. I'll see you tomorrow and get you a lift to where you want to go," I told her.

She started to go down before looking up at me.

"Don't trust anyone in your pack, Raven. And the book and dagger, keep it hidden. If you wish to know everything, come and talk with me," she told me before I closed the bunker's door.

Me and Stacey's trusted friend created the bunker. It was an old bunker that we accidentally found out about when Stacey and I roamed the forest. We checked out the inside and found that it's still intact. She and I decided to repair it and make it our secret place.

I sprinted back to the packhouse and chose the way where no warriors roam. After that, I climbed up to a tree that was almost connected to my room and jumped through the open window. And just as I landed on the floor quietly, someone knocked on the door.

"Who is it?" I asked.

"Alpha, some wolves from the kingdom wanted to see you," Kaydon told me.

"What are they doing here in these wee hours and disturbing my sleep?"

"I don't know, Alpha, they demanded to see you asap," he said.

"Alright," I replied before changing my clothes.

When I went outside, three were already talking with Kaydon and Sphere.

"What do I owe you during these late-night hours, gentleman?" I asked them. Luckily, I came home first before they got here.

One of the men scanned me before greeting me, making Claw growl for disrespecting us, which I muted afterward.

"We've been chasing a rogue, and she went in this direction. If she happens to cross your border, maybe she's here, we thought Alpha," he replied.

"I'm sorry, but if this rogue passes by here, my warriors will know it immediately," I replied. "Have you seen her passing by?" I asked the warriors assigned to watch that night.

"No, Alpha," they replied to me.

"Why don't you check the neighboring pack?"

They smiled at me before saying goodbye.
