"I did whatever they wanted, made as little mistakes as possible. I was a perfect child, up until the age of eighteen, when I didn't want to care anymore. I didn't desire their affections and acknowledgment anymore, but it was pathetic because deep down I did… I'll always do. I just simply knew how to mask it now. I hated myself, I hated them, and I used to think they should have just hit me sometimes. That was better, and you know why?" 

Sylus kissed under my jaw, almost as if he was trying to comfort me through what I was telling him. "Tell me." 

"They made me stop existing. Well, my father did."  

"What?" He grounded out, stiffening.
